Hoping pros will outweigh cons but time will tell
First off, it's heavy. But I knew that from the description. What I didn't realize was how much harder I have to work to push it once it's running, even on my nearly flat lawn. Add to that, I found I had to go over the lawn at least twice to get the grass blades cut. No matter what level I set it at, or how slowly I mowed, there would be grass pushed around but not cut. I suspected a dull blade, and I was right. I changed the blade and now it's better but strangely still leaving some uncut grass. But why would I be sent a mower with such a dull blade? And by the way, changing a mower blade required the purchase of tools I didn't have: Special wrench and special socket, on top of the cost of the blade. Another thing: Though overall the mower seems very sturdy, there are design issues which allow grass to build up and spew out, requiring you to spend additional time cleaning out the mower. Plus, I've never had a mower that throws out so much loose grass (and whatever you are going over)! Super 'leaky' design! Protective eyewear is probably always a good idea when mowing but with this machine, it's absolutely essential.

Anyone doing quality control?
The first time I used this mower one of the little plastic hubcaps fell off a front wheel: No big deal. The second time I used it, an entire back wheel fell off. When I reassembled it I found that the supposed self-locking nut on the wheel wasn't locking (bad nut). As I looked at the wheel assemblies some more, there were several oddnesses: The washers that served as spacers were oddly placed, and one of the wheels seemed to be missing the thick, smaller-diameter spacer that separated each wheel from the base of the axle. When I took that wheel apart (the one same one whose hubcap fell off on first use) I found that the hub insert was broken and had been shoved down into the wheel: Perhaps shipping damage, but the box was in good shape, so I don't think so. I also found that with the spacers that had been pre-installed, some of the retaining nuts could be tightened clear down to the end of the threads on the axles, and some had to be backed off to allow the wheel to turn. So, I disassembled all the wheels, distributed the spacers more logically, left off a spacer or two where needed to fully tighten the retaining nut, reseated the broken hub insert (now protected somewhat by a more logically located spacer washer), and acquired a new locknut to replace the defective one. I don't think that these wheels were assembled per design, and I suspect that the broken one may have resulted from careless assembly. So, what else may be incorrectly assembled? God only knows--I can't tear down the whole mower and make sure all is in order. I expected to be able to trust Scotts.

Not a good lawnmower
I have had this mower for about a year and a half and cannot recommend it. I mow 1/3 of an acre, half of which is on a slope, and sometimes let the lawn go 14 days before mowing it again -- so I admit that my use isn't typical. But -- one wheel fell off within the first two hours of use, and I had to reverse the wheel's locknut to get it to stay on permanently. It cuts better on the sides of its path than in the center, meaning that you need to overlap the last path by at least 60% to obtain an even cut. The grass catcher is wider at the back than at the front but you can only empty it through the front, so the bottleneck invariably dams and clogs the clippings when you try to empty the catcher. Bottom line: If you mow a small lawn twice a week this might be OK.

It gets the job done
I mow a small yard. This gets the job done, but is nowhere near as powerful as a gas mower. Dragging the cord is inconvenient (of course). The benefits are that I don't have to deal with gas, oil, or noise. After a couple months of light use, the front wheels seem to be towing outwards (out of alignment). I cannot bend them in due to the welded height adjustment (which works great). Also, I need to grease the wheel shafts (no bearings) because they do not roll as freely as they should. It still gets the grass cut.

Solid, powerful few thinks to dislike
This arrived nearly fully assembled. Just attach the handle and go mow! Lots of power for 12 amps. Bought this to replace a 10 amp mower and the difference is remarkable. It has a power control that is a pain to work with! Push a button and then move a lever. Also has no built in way to secure the cord, so it pulls out unless you hang on to it. I kept the one from the old mower and will put it on this one. Only other issue is, the wheels sit outboard of the cutting surface, so you can't mow up close to a wall or boarder. LOTS of height adjustments so will be easy to use if you let the lawn get a little over grown. Over all pretty happy with it. Great improvement over the old Black and Decker

Make sure the wheels are tightly bolted on. A little heavier than expected.
I'm a 5 foot 3 in woman. This takes some effort for me to push. I am new to mowing and am pleased at the gas free option. It is powerful enough to take down high grass. On my 3rd mow the right front wheel fell off! I was able to get it back on after I miraculously found the missing parts. I only wish it were lighter. Otherwise all in all a very decent mower!

It didn't last 2 years
I purchased this item and used maybe 3 times and now it's no longer working. Very disappointing.
