Use caution

My dog was within about 18 inches of it, I had it set on a 3 and forgot to adjust it back down after we had went inside the night before. He barked. He immediately went into a spasm and became "paralized" for about 10 minutes that were the scariest of my life. He started drooling, couldn't stand, couldn't straighten his legs. He tried, several times. He kept slipping, losing his balance. If I wasn't so scared at the moment I would have laughed at his "drunk" self. One paw wouldn't touch the ground as he was walking on his knuckles. I made him lay down and rest until he could catch his breath. And mine. I called my daughter out of the house and had her turn it off. We set on the patio with him for 0ver 10 minutes just staying calm and not freaking out the other 2 dogs we have. One was already wary of it as she is a Chihuahua and scared of everything. With time, he got up, went back inside and layed down. He kept looking at me with the most pitiful eyes like he didn't feel good and wanted me to fix it. Literally he would look at me, and then lay his head on my leg. I am heartbroken and feel I have failed him because I purchased this thing, I forgot to reset the settings, and now I feel his nervous system is affected. This morning, he is a different dog from before. Usually the first one out the door, off the bed, to the food bowls. Now, we have to wait on him to do anything. He has no energy, no wag. I feel like this is a good product, used with caution and focus on attitude your dog projects around it while using it.

Doesn’t work on my neighbors annoying dogs

I sit here at 6:50am on a Sunday not because I normally get up at 6:50am on a Sunday noooo. I’m up because the neighbors dogs were barking t their normal wake up time of 6:50am. Bark bark bark bark. I enjoy being startled awake every. Single. Morning. From these dogs I get to enjoy a heart rate that skyrockets from being startled awake followed by a migraine the size of Kentucky, followed by rage of epic proportions. Let me share the story of how I know this does not work on ALL dogs. I bought the “elite” out of desperation in hopes I would not have to confront my neighbors after 4 YEARS (yes you heard correctly 4 years) of this non stop barking. I test this out of the amazing box like Ralphie in A Christmas Story opening his air rifle. I immediately put the batteries in. OOOPS! I have a beautiful kind and VERY quiet golden retriever. He runs over to me like WTH momma???!? Runs to the door to do outside. Runs to end of driveway and just stares at house. I can’t get him to come back in. Oh. I but also Yay! It works! I’ll shut these neighbor dogs up once and for all. So now I have to plan. I’m 3 houses away from the dogs. So I plot to sneak over to my first neighbors house at night. I’ll hang it in their pine tree, they will never notice! So night comes. I “sneak” over to my neighbors back yard. Give away # 1. We have 4 feet of snow so now there are track to the tree. Oh well it’s March it has to melt soon. Keep going! I think to myself. So I get up to the tree and find a good Branco. Suddenly BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK! These dogs are like 5 feet away from me, behind a fence luckily. But they are supposed to be inside for the night!! So they scare the crap out of me with their blood curdling barks. And then, I smell cigarette smoke and see a tall silhouette out of the corner of my eye. It’s the dog owner staring at corner of his lot watching me hook up this thing. So now the dogs are out of control, he’s sitting there and in a spineless tone that you can’t even hear above his dogs death barks “hey be quiet”. Then he sees me in the dark, just stands there looking at a tree trying to pull a branch through the hoop it comes with, like this this doesn’t look weird at all. So he says “Uh, sorry about my dogs”. This unleashed the beast in my 110 pound 5’1” frame. Oh I lectured him. I told him how I am losing my mind with his dogs. He needs to control his dogs barking as all the neighbors are sick of it. That I’ve called the cops 10 times and still he does nothing!! He responds in a Forrest Gump like tone “Yeah we tried training but it doesn’t work” (dogs are still barking at this point!) so I say “Get a bark color! They have ones that spray, emit a high pitch tone or shock them…Control your dogs!!” And I walk away (using my same snow path I made going directly to my house). So now I sit and wait. 6:50am next morning arrives. BARK!….and then nothing. Omg this might work!! I celebrate. I was feeling relief for the first time in years not being woke up by satan dogs. Then…Sunday morning. I’m startled awake whilst dreaming. I sit there and I count…30 barks. 10 minutes later. 30 barks. Oh! Just now! More barks. I’m about to have a coronary. Last ditch effort will be to ask my passive aggressive neighbor if I can hang this on their fence to get a coupe feet closer. Now these neighbors…those barking dogs attacked their golden costing thousands in vet bills and traumatized their dog to this day. Hopefully they will let me hang this on their fence. If that does not work I am returning this. BTW. 2 days later my dog is still staring at me like “Why did you hurt me?”

Ok so far, but seems like other sounds trigger it

I got this for my boyfriend's dog that comes over on weekends. I living a townhouse style building and share a wall with my neighbor. It's an older building so the neighbors movements can be heard through the shared wall, especially near the front door which is right next to my front door. My boyfriend's dog barks and cries whenever he hears someone near the door (he is not aggressive, but thinks everyone outside is a visitor that should greet him). This gets problematic because, while I do not have guest over often, my neighbors go in and out a lot to visit their friends who live nearby. Also with the pandemic going on, both households have been ordering more packages/food delivery which means more delivery people to set off the dog. I placed this unit somewhat near the front door and set it to the middle setting but it doesn't seem to really work unless I do the highest setting. It does have a bit of a noise that I can hear when it goes off (like a vibrating noise and also the light turns red). I can tell my boyfriend's dog hears it too since he'll turn his head to it when it goes off. The issue is that it doesn't always trigger when he barks, but it DOES trigger from other noises. So far I think it's only cut off his barking twice, but it's been set off by other things like the bathroom vent (which is near the front door) and I think sometimes the television. When this happens, the dog will hide somewhere and whine so I end up turning it off while we are watching the tv since my intention is to stop him barking at noise at the door and not to punish him while we are watching tv. I think I may have to play with placement and settings more, but now I kind of wish I bought a hand remote device instead so I can manually set it off instead of depending on the noise detection. So I gave it 3 stars because while it does work, I don't like that it gets set off by other things so much. I don't think he'll correlate the noise with his barking if it's being set off by the TV too. Maybe it's just not really suited to indoor use? Also want to add that I have a cat. I put off getting this for awhile because I read cats can hear it too and I didn't want to punish my cat for something he didn't do. So far I can't tell if my cat hears it or is bothered by it as he seems unaffected. I will update if that changes.

Funciona!

Hasta ahorita está genial! ( 3 días) mi problema es con el perro del vecino de atrás, lo tiene en su patio el cual da a mi patio, entonces el ruido es mucho. El perro ladraba horas y horas y horas en la mañana, tarde, noche y madrugada...me sorprendió que apenas lo colgué en una ventana que da en esa dirección y a los segundos ladró el perro una vez e inmediatamente se escuchó como si se hubiera asustado y corrió a otra dirección y no volvió a ladrar en HORAS! poco después lo apagué y de todas maneras no ladró...lo dejo encendido toda la noche y durante el día lo apago varias horas y va genial, aún estando apagado el perro ladra mucho menos. Y encendido lo he escuchado creo 3 veces solamente lo cual es mi caso sorprendente, si la situación cambia actualizare esto.

Funciona!

Estaba escéptico pero casi desde los primeros días noté como se reducían los ladridos. Tengo 5 perros de diferentes tamaños y raza y todos dejaron de ladrar sin motivo. No se reducen al 100%, pero ahora no se quedan ladrando por tanto tiempo, sólo hacen un ladrido y se callan. O bien, ladran si hay algún estímulo fuerte como cuando alguien toca el timbre o van a comer. La casa se siente más tranquila y mis perros también. Sí recomiendo apagarlo cuando hay tormentas o pirotecnia porque esto activa la casita. Definitivamente es un artículo que todo dueño de perro debería tener.

it's hit or miss

i bought this because my neighbor has two noisy, barking dogs. 12/hrs a day. this mostly works on the male dog, his barking is down about 95%. it did nothing at all to the female, she still barks at her normal, loud, annoying, incessant, teeth-clenching rate. the 9v battery lasted about 2 months, which is what i was expecting. i've had it out in some terrific rain and snowstorms; the weather does not seem to affect it. i would rate it 2.5 stars if i could, but i'll dock 1/2 point for it feeling cheap and for the battery cover being hard to remove.

Bueno mientras dura.

El tiempo que duró fue muy bueno, a menos de 2 meses ya no funciona. Pensábamos que era la pila pero al parecer no. Me falta hablar al proveedor a ver si tiene arreglo. Si lo tiene es una gran compra si no, es muy caro para funcionar tan poquito tiempo.
