Stones arrived with significant rusting

The stones definitely feel of high quality and I am sure they work absolutely excellent. I haven’t had a chance to try them yet. That being said I have a qualm with how they have arrived that leaves me concerned with the long term effects it may have on their durability. At least 2 of the stones arrived with visible rust on them, primarily the fine and xtra fine stones. The red plate is the one that is most concerning. It is significantly rusted on one portion of the stone that is pictured above and then there is very minuscule light rusting on another part of the stone. My concern is that the stone is already losing the shine of the diamonds on the parts that are rusting, especially the worse parts. Is there something I should do to try and mitigate this? I’m worried it’s going to screw with the bonding of the diamonds with the surface of the steel. I would love to give a better review, if the rusting is normal and there are ways to mitigate it I can update the review after using them a bit

I used these and an independently purchased 8000 grit plate with my Work Sharp knife sharpener system and an Etsy 3-D printed accessory of 2 and the combination produced a SUPERB edge on my Opinel knife...and as advertised...they work perfectly either dry or with water...no oil needed :) 5 Stars and more

Nice files and nice case

I purchased these to hone lathe tooling bits. I'm satisfied with these files and the seller sent them quickly. The next set I purchase will be a solid diamond surface; the interruption of the holes makes it a little odd when filing small parts.

Still going after over a year!

I've had this set for about a year and a half as I'm writing this, and they continue to be very effective. I purchased them initially for a sharpening system that came with mineral honing stones, and I'm the kind of crazy knife guy who deals with steels like 3V, 110V, CTS-XHP, Elmax, and all kinds of other highly wear-resistant steels that really are best sharpened on diamond stones. After a couple months, I ended up getting a Wicked Edge system... But these still have a use! I use them to smooth out aggressive handle scales and I also hold them by hand to hone edges on the go. The little pouch is well-suited to them, but I do wish that they were clearly labeled as to which stone is which grit. Regardless, a fine product that I have had no issues with.

Suberb stones! I also got the 8,000 grit stone, and it fits wonderfully in this case as well. Absolutely essential for a bug out bag or for your next camping trip (if you know how to freehand sharpen). You still need to finish up with a 16,000 grit Shapton stone (or 30,000 grit for that matter), or a good razor hone if you can find one, just depends on how sharp you like your knives. They cut fast and do what they said they would do, and they do it wonderfully.

Nice item

Pros: Nice item, price was right, delivery on time. I use them to sharpen my ski edges. Nice to have a full array of choices of grit. Cons: Only the red file (fine) has one end of it with full diamond surface area, all the others are full dot pattern of cutting surface. I would purchase again if ever needed.

Fantastic sharpening system

I'm a farmer and a lumberjack, this system is great for axes and machetes (which i need to sharpen every day). I have had the big stones from dmt for a while, but for axes and machetes you're better of hringing the stone to the tool than the inverse for more control. The sheathing system is nice too.

Quality sharpening stones to give your cutting tools fantastic sharp edges.

Well packed kit of 4 various grade diamond stones. These stones result in a razor sharp edge and will cut through the hardest knife steel. I use them in a fixed angle sharpener and end up with a shaving sharp edge.
