Terrific sharpening system!

This product arrived at my home in perfect condition. So far I've used it several times on a couple of new projects and I am completely satisfied with this machine. I was looking hard at buying the Tormek T-8 but opted for Jet at the last minute. I'm very satisfied with this machine and highly recommend it.

Total junk

The plastic liner in the included jig instantly, and constantly fell out making the jig unusable until I had to super glue it in place. Only then could I use it at all. See picture above. None of the holders for the jig support were square to the stone. What started out as a squared chisel became an unsquared chisel skew because of the misalignment of the jig support arm. I see no way to correct this at all on the machine. I have a shop full of jet tools. When I got an opportunity to add a tool that I needed at a good price, I jumped at the opportunity. I'm sending this back. As far as I'm concerned, all of the fancy features don't mean a thing if I cannot get a good square sharp edge on my tools. I have done far better with a grinder and a hand honing jig like Veritas. Do not buy this thinking that you are saving money over the Tormek. Hopefully you can learn from my mistake.

Woodshop Workhorse

I am reading several negative reviews which have prompted me to write my own. I purchased one of these machines probably 10 years ago and it's still delivering high quality, repeatable edges on my turning tools. I have had o issues with loose tool holders or having to glue parts back on. Maybe they have changed during the years since I bought mine, but based on my personal experience I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

If you”re thinking about this machine, just don’t Run away as fast as possible. The tool rest is not tight In the shaft and I can’t get consistent results truing stone, 2 plane blades ruined. Save your money, buy a tormek, this is pure garbage

jet sharpener

I think the wheel is too coarse for knife sharpening. Even using the conditioning stone and metal polish on the stropping wheel I can not get a mirror like sharpness on my blades. Not happy considering the price I paid. $400 +
