the design is stylish, suede overlay make it look more fashionable, it match with long or short trousers very nicely, and besides, it’s also functional first of all, this shoe has a speed lace system, make it very easy to put on for kids, and also the velcro fastener to further secure the shoe, to ensure it best fit to the feet, my 4 years old girl could manage it quick and no hassle the shoes are not heavy at all, very comfortable to wear, good for many purpose, my girl likes it and wear it very often, even she likes to wear it to run and play in our own patio it got pretty deep groove between the lugs, which is good for hiking, it grip the floor firmly, especially walk through uneven terrain with wet rocks and muddy grass, it’s far more better than general trainers, it protect my girl from slip, she can walk and run more safely although the shoe got similar look to daddy’s columbia hiking shoes, but this kids model is not really waterproof, water went through the vamp and soaked the sock as soon as water touch the top, once i still wondered why the water can go into the shoe as the specification mentioned the upper is waterproof material, but i did a test and found the upper material will actually soak water to inner shoe sadly it could not keep my daughter’s feet dry, i was going to replace her outgrown wellies and let her wear this in the rain, but now i got to get new wellies for her the insole is non removable, cleaning mud and dirt inside is a bit difficult as kids usually collect loads of sand, dirt inside the shoes after playing anyway, it’s still good enough for many outdoor activities and most importantly it well protected her feet and ankle used material and crafting are robust and durable, heavily used it for weeks and it still look like new! i bet it will still stay strong until my daughter outgrown it, will definitely kept it for her little sister to use it later
