I’m a forensic scientist by profession and in my eyes it was a crappy kit. Especially the fingerprint powder- regular cheap black fingerprint powder was better than the random powder they chose. Which didn’t work AT ALL. I’d not buy this again, I’d make up my own kit of things that worked. Even the fingerprint lifting tape included was crap! Scotch tape worked way better.

Seems pricey for what it is.

Don't get me wrong - this seems like a fun little kit. But just shy of $50 feels pretty steep for what's really inside (some papers, cups, etc.). I think there are many other kits for less expensive than this that would get a similar job done.

My Granddaughter loved it!

I purchased this item as a Christmas gift for my 12 year old granddaughter. She is taking a Forensic Science class in school and is very interested in learning about solving crimes. She was sooooo excited about this kit that her mother is planning to get the neighbors involved in creating crime scenes that she can use the kit to solve.

So much fun!

My 6 year old daughter loves this....we create our own "mysteries" to solve. There is a small blacklight flashlight she is fascinated with. Good educational toy as well- can talk about how to measure things, the need to pay attention to details, and how to ask good questions :) There are messy components of this toy we have not used yet.

Awesome starter kit

Awesome kit. I used it to write several “detective” labs for my granddaughter. She loves solving problems and used the tools in this kit to solve them. Beware, you will need to be at the top of your game in writing these detective cases because they will want more.

Fun, engaging activity kit!

My kids absolutely loved this kit! Kept them busy for days! Age range is great too! All kids between ages of 6-13 got in on it! Even the adults at times too!

Great kit for the kids

Great little detective kit. It comes with crime scene tape, powders and basic detective items for your little one to explore. Teaches kids how to solve problems. It comes in a hard plastic case for storage which is great because I have had other science kits come in bags. My 10 year old daughter really likes this kit.

Great detective kit!

My son wanted this for Christmas. After reading the reviews I wasn’t sure if it was going to be as cool as he thought. When he opened it up he was thrilled and still is playing with it. He loves anything detective and this is perfect.

Complex but fun

Probably the best detective set in the market but be aware you will have to be with the children at all times and you should read everything yourself and be ready to loads of questions
