no longer chrome plated brass?

The front of the package no longer states "chrome plated brass" as an earlier reviewer posted with photos. Now the front says "stainless steel finish" and the back says nothing (see photos). We were looking for something perhaps less likely to rust than the Oatey brand we just took out of our shower and that we got at Home Depot years ago. (Our Home Depot has them in the aisle with the shower drains even though they don't show up on the Home Depot website. They cost about the same as this one.) This one looks pretty much just like the one we took out except that that one says "Oatey" on the front. Not knowing if it will be an improvement, I gave it three stars. If it does last without rusting, I'll try to remember to bump up my rating in a year or so. It seems slightly thinner than the one we took out. I guess there's not enough of a market for an actual stainless steel shower drain. Update three months later: We didn't end up keeping this shower drain. While still in the package waiting for our shower repair I noticed it had tiny spots on it. I decided to continue to look for something more substantial. We ended up with a Moen shower drain (also from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00083QIL4/) in satin nickel. The color is a little more golden but still looks good with our chrome fittings. It's thicker than the Danco and feels very solid and looks like it will not corrode. The Moen 101663BN, which is the one we got, doesn't have screw holes, it just snaps in; the Moen 101664BN does have screw holes. We have had it in our shower for a couple months now, and I like it.

Fits great. Looks good.

It fits my drain. Seems secure. Looks nice. We'll see if it's sturdy enough to hold up, but I assume it will be. Great value for the price.

However it has no holes for screws and I use caulking to keep it in place and it works

Totally rusty, NOT stainless steel

Installed less than a month ago and is completely rusty. Definitely NOT stainless steel as mentioned in the description! Not worth your money.

Great replacement for my plastic broken cap

The 10 year old plastic shower stall drain cap broke a little while ago. I found this online and figured I would try it. It isn't a perfect fit but only because I didn't realize the indent was more square than round. But the round fits and lays flat so it works fine. I haven't had it long enough to know if it rusts or anything but for the price I honestly don't care. This replacement was cheap and better quality (not plastic).

Stylish and a perfect match

I purchased this Danco snap in shower to replace my broken plastic one. When I received it, I was really excited to use it because it was a match in size for my shower. One issue I found is that the mini tabs are not snapping in because they are closer to the centre not to the walls of the drain, so I bent them a bit to make the drain stay in place, still not snapping in and out but at least it doesn’t move as much. Overall, I am very happy with the quality of this product, very stylish as it’s metallic and looks lovely in the shower! I am so glad that I ordered this item, the price is also right. I couldn’t find a metallic drain for my shower at this price with such great quality anywhere.

Depends on how you use it

Size is perfectly fitting. But the notch, or the hook(?) didn't snap in. It's hanging. The good side is that I can pick it up without any tool when cleaning.
