Seems to go bad quickly
This is an updated review. When I first received these lights I was very satisfied. Only about 3 out of 64 were broken on delivery and the rest worked great so for the price they were a bargain. Then after the first month issues started. I noticed in the rain about half filled with water. Upon inspection I noticed there were supposed to be drain holes and in about half the lights they had not been drilled out, so I did that myself. It only took about an hour. Next I noticed several lights stopped lighting at all. So I brought them in and charged the batteries and they lit up fine. However many of them never turned off. Not sure what happened but for some reason the light sensor appeared to go bad so they always though it was dark...well with solar powered batteries that's an issue because they won't stay charged long when running constantly. By October 2012, I bought them in early June 2012, and only 17 out of the 64 I bought are still working, so they don't look like such a good deal any more. A year after purchase I am down to 2 working lights and they only stay on for a few hours, and the plastic has become very brittle. Just touching them is enough to break the lamp off. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. I am still not sure what the bad reviews mean when they say they are not bright, or don't stay lit very long. In my experience they either worked great, or not at all. When I initially got them, I charged all the batteries in a charger before I noticed they have an on/off switch which had I known I would have let them charge outside for a couple days instead.(I bought 8 sets of 8 lights so took a while to charge all 64 batteries). The on/off switch was well described in the instructions, which being a man, I did not read. After charging them in my cheapo NiCad charger I then reinstalled the batteries, turned the switches to "on" and placed them outside, they ran all night. As to brightness...for Pete's sake! They're accent lights, designed to enhance the appeal of landscaping or provide decorative lighting for a walkway. If you want security lights or lights that light up the area for parties do not get these(of course if you have half a brain and read the description you should already know that) They are sturdy and have not moved after 4 days of rain with some storms giving wind gusts to 50 mph.

Not just for the garden...
Ever wonder what to do when the power goes out and you don't want to light candles? A few years ago I bought a few Lid Lights to use with the small jelly jars. They charge well in my sunny kitchen window, and light up each night to act as night lights...and...they have served as emergency lights during power outages. But at about $10 per light, they can be expensive if you want more than just a couple. Of the three I had, one of the bulbs burned out too soon, and another is on its last legs. I really didn't want to spend another $30 for replacements, so I went looking for a different option. That's when I found these lights. So what I did yesterday was to put just the top (without the stake) into one of those small jelly jars and charged it all day. Turned the light on, and it stayed lit from 11 PM last night to 7 AM this morning. Who knows how long it might have stayed going if the sun hadn't come up. So I got a full 8 hours of light. Granted, it's not spotlight quality. The inner cover is translucent, so it's more like the soft glow from a 15 watt incandescent bulb. But it seems to be adequate for emergency lighting where you only need enough illumination to keep from walking into a wall or falling over furniture There are 8 lights in the set, and I'm testing them one by one. So far, I like the product, and will give an update once I've tested all of them. UPDATE Oct 17, 2013 Tested all the lights...they work fine. What it says on the box is true...a full day of sunlight will keep them lit all night. Cloudy days are a bit of a problem. I came up with a solution, though. On cloudy days I put the lights (which are sitting in jelly jar glasses without the stakes in the bottom) under artificial light. My kitchen light stays on all day, so that's where they go until bedtime, then it's back to my kitchen window, where they shine all night. I had them in the small jelly/canning jars and they were cute, but then I found some larger ones with a cut-glass design on them and they're so pretty! Like I said above, just don't put the stakes on them. Set them over the mouth of whatever glass you plan to use, and you're good to go.

this is a cheep lights I ewer seen too bad that Amazon selling it. Like Amazon product but this is garbage made in China

El envio llego bien desde los Estados Unidos. La caja de las luces es solo de carton, no tiene nada impreso como aparece la imagen del anuncio. Las luces estan todas amontonadas dentro de la caja con solo un pedazo de plastico burbuja como proteccion. El paquete no incluye instrucciones, ni garantia, ni especificaciones del producto. Las lamparas son todas de plastico de mediana calidad, no creo que duren mucho al ser expuestas al sol, la lluvia, el polvo etc. La iluminacion del LED blanco de cada lampara es muy tenue. No recomiendo la compra del producto. He visto lamparas similares, en calidad y acabados, en Waldos y un poco mas economicas.

COMPRE 3 CAJAS DE ESTAS LUMINARIAS, O SEA 24 LAMPARAS, RESULTA QUE DOS DE ELLAS NO PRENDEN PARA NADA, LA LUZ QUE EMITE EL FOCO ES MÍNIMA Y SE TERMINA APAGANDO EN UNOS CUANTOS MINUTOS, HAY UNA TERCERA QUE TAMBIÉN SE APAGA MUY RÁPIDAMENTE, DEL RESTO NO ME PUEDO QUEJAR. HABRÁ ALGUNA MANERA DE SOLUCIONAR ESTE PROBLEMA?

La lámparas están bien, pero la iluminación es muy ténue. No es ni de cerca lo que viene en la imágen.
