Nice product... harder material than expected

The only negative I would say is the tong surface itself is really rigid.... I was used to the silicone coated ones but these are still great to have.

Not like my original Farberware tongs

Like so many other products today...pay more for less. Less usefulness, less quality. I have no idea what I can do with this "dummied down" version of my favorite utensil . My original tongs' wide gripping area easily turns several french fries at a time. From the looks of the new one I don't think I can do more than one at a time. So disappointed. Farberware used to have a reputation for quality and usefulness. My old one can easily turn a steak over. The new version may tear the meat because the gripping area is half of my original. I might as well use my old metal prong fork .

The best, lasting quality for the job!

These are a replacement for an older pair that had the black end come off. I didn't want to try to glue it on as I didn't want to use something that goes down into the food as it could be toxic. I use them for grasping pieces of hot chicken and meat mostly. I use them with non-stick cookware and have all metal for other cookware. It took me awhile to find these. There are a lot of cheaply made versions out there. This is your best bet.

A gripping story

These are the best tongs I ever had. At the moment, I must have at least 6 pair of various tongs in my kitchen drawer, but these are the ones I always reach for. They really grip, which is more than I can say for any of the other brands. The silicone type are the worst, food just slides off. These have stainless side “ teeth” that help to grip your food. The only con is I wish the handle was longer.

Release switch slides too easily

The tongs seemed fine for a while, but after not much usage, the switch slides too easily. I find myself doing something like pushing food in a Dutch oven, then the tongs lock up in a closed or semi-closed position. It's a nuisance and not worth the trouble.

Very sturdy

These are great! Very sturdy. Doesn't feel like it's going to bend or break. It's safe to use in my nonstick pots. Sidenote: Great clicking feel. :)

What’s the big deal??? THIS is ‘professional’??

I guess these are “as good as it gets”??? I ordered based on the word “Professional” in the item description… I guess professionals are not as fussy as I am?? I give these tongs an average rating - - in part because the vast majority of other tongs out there are just junk!! These are ‘okay’… I am not sure how the ‘adjustable locking feature’ will work in my kitchen - I want them to open fully and there is an adjustment on how much these open - so that might be an issue. I WANTED SUPREME QUALITY, LARGE TONGS… these will do - until I find a really large, truly professional quality set of tong for kitchen and BBQ use. So far - only minimally impressed.

Not self-locking but very good quality.

Contrary to the title, these are not self-locking tongs like professional one handed locking ones in a restaurant kitchen. They are a good quality though and loved the serrated tongs so kept them.
