Great Temperature Comtrol

If you have a crockpot that cooks too high on the low setting like I had, this crockpot may be for you. The price is staggering at first, but after researching many different brands and sizes, reading countless reviews, and considering usage frequency, the All-Clad 7 quart crockpot now resides in my kitchen. I made a brown sugar, garlic chicken recipe in it for its inaugural cook and it was amazing!!! No burned sugar stuck to the inside, no burned chicken, and no wasted water to soak the insert in after dinner. It performed beautifully and I'm hooked! All-Clad is synonymous with high quality where I live, their headquarters are about 5 miles from my house. This is definitely an instance of you get what you pay for, and I highly recommend making the investment.

Cooks without overcooking.

I spent days reading reviews and debating over what to buy. I hated to pay so much more for a slow cooker, but I had been through several cheap ones in just a couple of years so I finally decided to push the "add to cart" button despite the high price tag. I am glad I did. There are a variety of slow cookers available for a reason, so this one will not fit everybody, but I will highlight why it works for me. Other's reviews helped me find the right one so I figure I should do one. I fretted over size. Since we are only a family of 3, I don't really need 6.5 quarts for everything, but for a roast or corned beef the bigger size is a must. I have also read ovals cook better than round for roast-like meat. So those two factors were what settled me on size. I have found the slow cooker does just fine when I cook smaller batches like soup. I do not regret the bigger size. I have had bad luck with dials. Either they fall off or get stripped so you don't know what temperature you are cooking at. I wanted a different way of selecting temperatures. The push button system is each to use and you can choose high or low and adjust time. I like that it automatically switches to cool. That was never a feature that came on my other models so I did not realize how much I would like having that. Besides dials not working, I have had a handle break off so I did look at construction. This one looks solid. The handles are not going to ever fall off. That is good because slow cookers can be heavy. The only ding I gave it was a durability star and I wish I could have only done a half star. The lid kinda slides around a bit. It works fine and does not seem to loose heat. I store mine so appearance does not really matter to me, but I would consider it a nice looking kitchen appliance. The final reason I am super happy with this one is how it cooks. My last slow cooker had boiling or scalding for temperatures. I was so frustrated with burned edges and scrubbing the insert clean. I don't want the waste of liners or the unknown of non-sticks. The has 3 distinct temperatures with the warm, high and low. The high is high without the burnt edges. The one time I did not have enough liquid and dried the edges out, the insert cleaned up nicely. Overall, I am quite happy. I hope it lives up to All Clad's reputation and works for years to come. This review is based off a few months of use.

Very good at what it does...

If you're a fan of All-Clad products, this might be the slow cooker for you. It's solid and well made, looks nice sitting on your countertop, and it generally performs quite well compared to other slow cookers I've tried. I'd say this is a medium capacity cooker - the same unit comes in a larger size if you prepare big meals...my needs are more modest and I prefer the smaller size. The controls are fairly straightforward. The unit has high, low and warm temperatures, and you can program the high and low independently. For instance, you could have something cook two hours on high, then four hours on low, then stay on warm indefinitely. The display shows time remaining and is generally easy to read. One thing I don't like is that the low setting has a minimum of four hours - my favorite oatmeal recipe needs about three hours on low. I'd also like a way to turn it on, but not have it start for a few hours. I'm sure there are all sorts of foods that shouldn't be left raw at room temperature, but it seems wasteful to cook something then have it sit on warm for several hours, versus just delaying the start so that it finishes at the time you need. The glass lid makes it easy to keep an eye on food if you need to. The handle is insulated so you can pick it up without getting burned, and it includes a few small vent holes so there's no chance of steam build up. An older slow cooker I had didn't have this feature, and it had a tendency to rattle from steam pressure bouncing the lid around - it was very annoying, and I'm glad the All-Clad has none of these issues. The removable insert is handy for those dishes you might want to start out on the stovetop and then transfer to the slow cooker. Be warned that the aluminum insert is NOT compatible with induction cooktops, so you're out of luck if you have an induction system (like me)...this was my one big disappointment with the product. Otherwise, the insert is heavy enough to spread the heat in a way that cooks evenly, and the nonstick surface is easy to clean. There's a version of this product that comes with a ceramic insert, if you prefer. Overall, I find it cooks evenly and as well as any slow cooker I've tried. The last unit I had seemed to have "hot spots" in certain spots...food unlucky enough to land in one of these areas would end up dried out and singed. The All-Clad is way better in this regard - no hot spots and everything I've cooked in it comes out evenly cooked. Definitely worth a look if you're after a high quality slow cooker.

Great Product!!

I had purchased an All-Clad Slow Cooker about 20 years ago and it worked wonderful up until I bought this one to replace it. I hope I get 20 years on this Slow Cooker as well. This one is more updated and looks great on my counter.

I LOVE THIS SLOW COOKER

I HAVENT USED THIS COOKER YET BUT HAD THE SAME ONE FROM ANOTHER BUSINESS FOR 6 OR 7 YEARS AND LOVED IT. IT QUIT WORKING. USED IT OFTEN. SLOW ROAST A TURKEY OR HAM SO TENDER.AND ITS VERY PRETTY ON THE COUNTER. I JUST HOPE THIS ONE LAST LONGER!

Another Quality Product from All-Clad

This one is for a gift as we have had the same All-Clad for 6 years. It has been fantastic and super easy to use and clean. It cooks everything from ribs to chili and all meats that you want to be "fall off the bone" tender and juicy. You can't go wrong with this product if your are seriously thinking about a slow cooker in your kitchen.

Love it!

We bought this when our old 6qt crockpot finally gave up. For a family of 2 adults and 2 young children, the size is perfect for dinner, plus a little left-over for lunch. We've used it 4-5 times a week for the past 4 months. The food cooks evenly, meals turn out great, and the unit it looks great in the kitchen to boot!

Love this cooker.

By far the best slow cooker I’ve had to date. Looks beautiful and works like a charm. Being able to adjust the cooking time up or down is a great feature and the extra long cook times make it possible to actually sear your meats and put it all in and start cooking the night before instead of having to do everything in the morning before you leave for work. It’s built well and i expect this to be the last cooker I’ll ever need.

Fantastic slow cooker!

Purchased an identical replacement after the ceramic liner shattered while being moved by a moving company. Fantastic product, I absolutely love it and I love that it looks beautiful enough to leave on the counter full time. Wouldn't think twice about buying as a gift.
