Buyer beware

I ordered this BB instead of others in the same price range (such as Shimano UN55) because it came with crank arm bolts, or so the description says. This BB is to replace a mid-80's style Sugino bottom bracket (the original on a 1985 Trek 300) that used nuts to attach the crank arms to the spindle. I didn't want to spend an extra $7-$10 on crank arm bolts as this BB was going on my bike trainer BB. I received the package today and it did NOT come with crank arm bolts. I went to my local bike shop and they gave me (no charge) crank arm bolts from their spare parts bin. If you don't have crank arm bolts, buyer beware! The description says they come with bolts but mine did not. Had I known that I would have opted for the UN55 as Shimano is a much better known brand vs. Neco. The quality of the Neco seems fine. I installed it today and I'll do my first trainer ride today.

Easy replacement part, removal tool needed

My original part was steel housing and cups. This replacement is aluminum. It's much lighter. I believe the durability is not affected by using aluminum. My old part came out (I needed to use a bracelet removal tool) easily. My new part installed easily. It took me about 20 min. So far, so good! ????

Schlechte Qualität

Leider habe ich schon nach knapp 1000km ein Knacken im Lager, welches gefühlt mit jedem Kilometer an Intensität zunimmt. Mittlerweile kann man das Fahren mit dem Fahrrad auch als Lärmbelästigung bezeichnen. Da erwartete ich mehr von einem Innenlager.

gutes Innenlager mit Aluminium-Schalen

Das Innenlager ist in einem Cube Kid 200 (Kinder-MTB mit 20") verbaut. Es ersetzt das original Innenlager, das defekt war. Das Innenlager passt perfekt und ist sehr leichtläufig. Auch der Alu-Vierkant-Kurbel-Satz, den ich verbaut habe, passt perfekt zu diesem Lager. Die Schalen sind aus Aluminium und nicht wie bei vielen anderen Lagern aus Kunststoff. Es ist leichter als das original Lager und macht einen qualitativ hochwertigen Eindruck. Für den Preis von unter 20€ kann ich das Innenlager nur empfehlen.

Tretlager in Sondergröße, Lager mittels Gleitdichtung gedichtet

Das Tretlager macht einen guten Eindruck, die Lager sind mit einer Kunststoffgleitdichtung nach außen gedichtet. Der Einbau war ohne Probleme. Die Sondergröße ist nicht weithin verfügbar, jedoch für die Kettenlinie nötig. Über die Langzeithaltbarkeit sagt das natürlich noch nichts.

Das hier ist ein hochwertiges Neco Innenlager, besonders für Alurahmen geeignet.

Die Sorte habe ich bereits mehrfach verbaut. Vorteile: sehr leichtgängig und Rostprobleme gibt es auch nicht. Dabei sind die Gewindeschalen aus Alu. Das ist langlebiger, als Gewindeschalen aus Plastik. Beim Einbau in einen Alurahmen kann es also keine Kontaktkorrosion geben. Für Stahlrahmen würde ich eher ein Innenlager mit Stahlschalen nehmen, damit nichts festgammeln kann. Auch der Fahrradhändler hier vor Ort verbaut diese Innenlager, allerdings sind sie dort deutlich teurer.

Schraube hält nicht

Erster Eindruck war gut. Die Schraube zum halten der Pedale wird aber immer sofort locker. Selbst mit Schraubensicherung wird sie sofort locker. Das Lager ist also für mich nicht nutzbar...
