Top quality shorts--even though "Made in China."
Mountain Khakis manufacture high quality products, and these shorts are no exception. They fit well although the sizing runs a bit small, and they wash & wear well, with some ironing, if desired. This company started as a small vendor in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, focusing on sportswear, and has greatly expanded over the years due to their stylish and durable clothes which has created a well-deserved loyal customer base. Their clothing is comparable in quality, style and price to the Patagonia brand. I found and purchased these shorts for my husband here on Amazon at a great discount; if you purchase directly from MK and one of their retailers, you will pay much more. For the price of one pair of shorts elsewhere, I purchased two here. I would like to say that MK clothes are all USA-Made but unfortunately, I cannot. The label states "Made in China." Why a small company like MK would outsource its production to China is surprising, and quite disappointing. For that reason, I've deducted one star. Maybe, like Patagonia has done in the past, MK will come forward and explain what percentage of its production and materials are outsourced, and if it has future plans for returning any or all of that to the USA, rather than being completely quiet (on its website) regarding this important and relevant issue.

Great shorts
These shorts are great. Not too thick, not to thin on the material. I found the inseam to be just right for my preferences. The color is a little darker than the picture, maybe after a few washes they will lighten up. My only gripe (that was quickly fixed) was that on the right side there are two full size hand pockets...? Why they thought this would be good, I don't know. But a quick sew job and there is no longer pocket-confusion. Maybe would have liked an alternative pocket down the leg, but oh well. I find my wallet is sometimes hard to get out of the back pockets, but all of these issues are minor. I like that I know where these shorts are made, and am willing to pay a bit more.

Well-made shorts that fit
This was my first purchase of MK apparel, and I will look for more items from this brand. The shorts are comfortable and seem very well-made. I've worn them numerous times over the last few months, with accompanying trips through the washing machine, and they still look pretty much the same as when I received them, with little fading or wear visible. I own a ton of shorts, but these might now be my favorites.

When canvas is too much
I have several MK Alpine Utility shorts but needed lighter weight shorts for warmer weather and to make it easier to balance a load in the washer. The twills fit the same as the canvas shorts; no vanity sizing. I like MKs double right-side pocket and overall rugged construction. The twills are tightly woven and should be durable. The 10" length is fine for general use but hikers might like MKs 7" length better. But as much as I like MK shorts, if not for a sale price I'd have bought something else.

Great if you don’t pay full price
Great, comfortable, durable shorts, and I like the extra pocket for my reading glasses. Look for them on sale, the list price is too high.

Great, high quality shorts. Definitely buy these.
My favorite shorts by far. I ordered multiple pairs. I can't endorse these enough. They are so well made with high quality material. The price on Amazon is amazing (~$35 per pair). The inseam of 10" is great for me, and I'm 6'1". I also have a pair of the MK poplin shorts with an 8" inseam, and they are great as well. I recommend these to anyone that cares. For what it's worth, the MK pants are my favorite pants as well.

Very Pleased!
I am really please with this purchase! I have a couple pair of their long pants, so I thought I would give the shorts a try, I really like the fit and finish. You can dress them up or down. Out on the town or down on the farm.

Really nice, well made shorts
Really nice, well made shorts. Ordered waist measurement I typically where in my casual long pants and jeans (Levis), but found these an inch or two smaller than those fit. Am keeping them as an incentive to lose a few pounds, but keep it in mind if you order these.

Sturdy shorts
- like them like this. Wonderful design and quality - stronger than normal shorts yet not so 'shouty' and OTT as big-pocket Cargo shorts. No complaints at all other than they are so difficult to get hold of from UK, never quite the right sizes/lengths available it seems..........are they being made still at all....? Great shame if not....great shame.
