The farm puzzle is great but the shapes could use some quality control
I both these puzzles for my sone for Easter. He immediately began playing with the shape puzzle first, but when he got to the pentagon, he couldn’t remove the piece from the puzzle. I tried, and had to fight to get it out. It’s like they sand them down and just didn’t do this one. There is also a small hole along the edge of the circle piece, like someone drilled through it. This isn’t seen in any of the other Melissa and Doug Puzzles we have.

Very High Quality!
As a new gift for my 14-month old niece, this was perfect! The knobs are exactly the right size for her to grab onto, and she already tries to fit the pieces back into the board. My brother and his wife are very impressed with the quality of the materials!! I know that teething may become an issue in the future, but that's to be expected. Great job, Mellisa and Doug!

Great Puzzles for a 1 Year-Old!
I was a little skeptical as to how well my 1 year-old niece would be able to put these puzzles together, but since the recommended age is 12 months-4 years, I went ahead and bought them for her for her birthday at the end of July. Her parents had told me that she enjoyed playing with a Melissa and Doug puzzle at a friends house in June for his first birthday. I'm glad I bought these! She still needs a little help putting them together, but for the most part, she can put the pieces back in (getting them all out all over the floor is no problem for her!). I will say that she seems to have an easier time putting the shapes puzzle together than she does the farm puzzle. The nice thing about these puzzles is that there's a picture of the puzzle piece beneath where it goes, as well as the picture (like the farmer's picture for example) on the actual puzzle piece itself. The wooden knobs on the puzzle pieces are great and are easy for little hands to grab! The only thing I don't like about these puzzles is that the designs on the puzzle pieces are just stickers stuck onto them (although, the stickers cover the entire piece, so I'm not worried that she's going to pick at them and peel them off), and seeing as at this point everything she sees goes into her mouth, the stickers are getting a little "soggy" and starting to come off a little. As long as you're playing with them or at least supervising them as they're putting the puzzles together and can tell them not to put the pieces in their mouth, you should be good!

Good and solid
I bought these for my niece for her 1st birthday. She's already been interested in puzzles, but has a hard time with the usual tiny little pegs that are used for puzzles for this age. These knobs are very sturdy and she is able to easily grasp and manipulate the pieces. The overall size of the puzzles themselves was much bigger than I anticipated (I apparently didn't look at the size very well before ordering), but they are a good size for her little hands. The only thing to watch for is since it is such a solidly built puzzle, they can hurt if the little decides to chuck it (my niece's newest trick, lol). The only issue I've seen is that for some reason the square isn't perfectly square, so you have to put it back in the exact direction that it comes out. The triangle you're able to put any point in any corner just fine. It might just be a fluke with the one I received and it doesn't seem to bother my niece at all, so I'm not worried about it. Overall it's an excellent puzzle that looks like it will hold up for years to come.

A well-thought exercise for a young toddler.
I never realized that an 18 month old could be so developed in making shape/color associations. The farm animal set will be more challenging as their hand dexterity is still catching up with their mind. Be ready to provide a little assist, if they can't quite position things easily. You will be able to see when the child may be ready to take on new challenges. Hopefully, more from this company. It is a durable wood laminate construction. It can be a hand-me-down to many future siblings.

So sturdy
This puzzle is made sturdy - not like the cardboard type you can get. Will last a long time - and easy for my 18 month old to use.
