Extension will work for regalo baby easy wide extra wide baby gate!

If you have a regalo baby safety gate (mine is called the Regalo easy step extra wide baby gate, Model 1165NH) and you’ve been looking for a gate extension then you’ve come to the right place. On amazon and on the regalo baby website only the 24” inch gate extension was available as a desperate purchase in white. My baby gate came with a 4” & 6” extensions to make the gate good for 29-44” but I was still short on the width of the top of the stairs where I planned to use the gate. Without much thought I ordered the 24” gate extension only to be again disappointed that I had overshot the distance and really needed something in between like a 12” extension. I scoured the internet and could only find overpriced used ones on eBay under the regalo baby name. I saw this gate extension (even though it was marketed under Carlson pet gates) and decided to heave one last Hail Mary before giving up (since the extension looked almost identical in pictures) and scrapping the whole gate to start back at ground zero. Boy am I glad I did because the Carlson pet gate extension is an exact match and must be the same manufacturer just marketed under different companies/names bc it fits perfectly. Also it adds the availability and options of that in between gate extension size of 12”. I’m sure it fits more than just my model, but you’d have to check out the cross compatibility with your regalo baby safety gate on a case by case basis. As far as I can tell you definitely shouldn’t mix the regular height gates with the extra tall gate extensions (and Vice versa), but if the heights are equal it’s worth a shot if it’ll make your gate useable for the fittment of your desired gate location. My gate height is 30”. Wish the regalo brands (regalo, Carlson pet products etc) would make things easier for the consumer to know exact fittment compatibility between brands and each line of gates and extensions. May the force be with one, Regalo-0, Me-1.

WAY cheaper than buying "wide" gates.

We had a need for a baby gate on the back porch to keep the dogs in, this was our answer! This product let us replace the indoor cat gate (to keep the dogs out of our cat room with one that allows our senior cat to walk through) while also solving our outdoor porch gate problem (to keep the dogs on the porch)!!! Great product, and a cheaper option than buying another wide gate that would have been the more expensive option.

Good product but missing piece

Like others have reviewed there is a design element keeping you from attaching directly yo gate so you need an additional extension (metal covering that prevents the pieces from fitting together. However my issue is mine arrived missing one of the metal pins so now the gate bends funny and won't always stay latched either. I have not been able to locate anyone selling just the metal pin so now I have to accept it the way it is. It is better than the previous gate I had since it will actually extend across my abnormally wide hallway, but I am very unsatisfied with how it looks and I will detach it when I have visitors over.

not 12 inches

they said 12 inch extension. I needed about 12.5 inches to fill the gap. unfortunately this is actually a 14 inch extension at minimum. so if you measure it, don't go by 12. go by 14

Wobbly but it can work

I chose this because I wanted to block off a 6" opening, which took a few extensions. With multiple extensions the whole thing bowed out, and could not adjust to be held in place by the pressure mount. I found that it was just fine after I placed plastic straps to hold two 4' aluminum "L" across the bottom, which made it quite rigid. Buy extensions to bring this close as possible to the walls. The pressure mount can extend out a ways, but this also adds instability. Adjusting them is clumsy but eventually it works. I bought a different gate from a different company at the same time, which uses the exact same mounting design. Someone should come up with a better system. Out of the box the gate appears to be defective. They include a paper saying this is not so, and they are right. Read the directions before assembling or you may want to return a perfectly good product. Once installed, it was solid, easy to open and close and kept my dogs where I wanted them. I woould but again if I needed to block off a larger opening again.

Game Changer.

This thing has been absolutely money in training and keeping my new pup safe and at bay. It was a bit of a challenge to install (by myself), but had I had a bit of help, it would've been much easier. If you struggle installing there is a great YouTube video that helped me tremendously. This gate is well made and I would definitely recommend and buy again!

Great!

Exact size extension I needed. Installing it took very little time. I did screw it in because I have a little one and it’s at the top of stairs, but it’s completely up to you if you want to do that, it seems sturdy either way. So happy to see this offered, I couldn’t find the perfect size gate I needed, this was the only one, so it’s a relief that it’s a winner as well!

Perfect for a house of pets.

In a house with 3 cats and a lab puppy, we needed a way to give the cats escape routes when the pup gets too rambunctious. The little pet door is removable. The hinge/pin has a spring in it so it can be removed with pliers.

Just what we needed

Needed a gate to keep the 13 yr old blind Boston from the kitties food. Opening is 48", bought this with the gate. Perfect fit! Worked great until the blind dog discovered she can fit through the pet door. Will keep using the gate but see if we can do something to make the opening of the pet door too small for the dog but big enough for the kitties.

Es un básico si adquiriste la reja y la planeas usar en cualquier espacio mayor a la distancia de una puerta, es firme y no tengo ninguna queja en relación al producto en si, solo considero es un poco caro pero en realidad una vez adquirida la reja no tienes mas opcion.

Pet gate

It fulfilled what we wanted in a pet gate, however, it was a little difficult to adjust for the right size and took us over 20 minutes to work out. otherwise looks ok and easy to use.
