Great price and quality.

This item is half the price of one at an auto parts store if you can find one. Most stores, big store hardware stores, don't even carry this item. Easy to use. I ordered two just because they are so reasonably priced.. I recommend this item.

Garbage

The housing is so thin and weak that, with repeated use, it deforms and shorts the terminals. The dents that will inevitably happen will also make the plug very difficult to remove from an adapter. There are no separations protecting the terminals so, when a wire works a little bit loose, shorts will happen. The terminal screws are so soft that they cannot be reused if the plug must be rewired. This connector is suitable only for toy trailers. The housing is not large enough to accommodate the sheathed cable of a commercial trailer. What a shame. Hopkins once was a very reliable source of electrical products.

Good quality and inexpensive

Good quality and inexpensive. I use this for the 5 pole controller connection got my twin trolling motors. Now I also have a "key" I can remove the controller from the boat when not in use.

the lights worked fine. I wasted several hours of work time because ...

The connector on my old utility trailer was too corroded to use so I purchased this. After attaching and testing, I found the trailer lights did not work correctly. The wiring on the trailer was a mess, so I rewired the whole thing, only to find the lights still did not work correctly. After several hours of checking electrical and ground connections, I checked the voltage levels at the truck and the back of the new connector, and found there was a large drop. The metal used in this connector did not transmit voltage from the truck's connector prongs to the rear of the black insert where the trailer's wires connect. When I replaced it with a 40 year old connector from another trailer, the lights worked fine. I wasted several hours of work time because of this P.O.S. and don't want anyone else to go through what I did. Do not buy this product.
