WOW

I dreaded having to wire car to our trailer. But with the harness it was so simple to install. I won’t forget to tell any of my family or friends about the low cost easy to install and use kit. Glad I found you.

Functions and installs as advertised.

If you follow the included instructions the install should go without aggravation. On the Equinox the tail-lights were the hardest to remove. There is a friction pin at the top front corner of the light and a rectangle at the bottom. I was extra careful so I didn't scratch the body, so if you are more of a weekend warrior then I recommend using blue painters tape of about 3 inches all around the light just in case. The instructions state to start with the driver's side, I found that instead of starting from the top and trying to route the wires down through the bumper that it was easier to fish them up from the bottom. Otherwise you will be pushing the whole harness down from either side. Use a coat hanger or string to pull the connectors up. I used the inner hole but either hole below the light will work. Make sure to route the wire over the plastic bumper braces. Another note, watch out for the wires when installing the hitch because there are two bolts in the middle on either side of the receiver. That's about it. Hopkins includes a cover and connector grease which protects from corrosion.

Very easy to install

Very easy to install. I have little to no car know-how. I watched a video on how to install on my 2011 equinox (googled it), followed the directions, and was done in about 40 minutes, which is probably much longer than someone who knows what there doing would need. I took the advice of another review to fish the ends up into the where the tail lights are instead of pushing the entire assembly down through. I used a bungee to fish them up and it worked great. I also used 7 extra zip ties to secure the wiring across the bumper - it only comes with two zip ties and I wanted to make sure it was going to stay put. Probably overkill. Put it all back together, the tail lights worked, the trailer lights worked and I did it myself.

Plug and play

Good harness bad connector. ;(

The connector for the right tail light kept pushing the terminals out of the connector body. The first time I put it together the tail light did not work. I had to remove the purple terminal guide from the inside of the connector. It now works but cost me 30 min and potential non working tail light. I also extended the ground and routed inside to spare tire well so it would not corrode over time. You also need to fully tape up the wires.
