Overflow issues

It's a plastic pitcher for brewing coffee - works great, the lid is leak proof. However, I wish the filter part was sealed from the body of the pitcher. As it is, when you don't keep it a 100% upright and you have it filled, the grinds will escape into the liquid part. When it said it was leak proof (which it is, to the outside), I got the impression I could shake it around and it would be fine but it is not leak proof within the vessel. Not a major problem but just something to be aware of.

Tall, but worth it

If you do not store this in the bottom shelf of your fridge door, be prepared to take a shelf out of your fridge. That being said, fairly easy to clean and the mesh is fine enough that letting it steep overnight is long enough for a cold brew that doesn't need to be diluted. The bottom of the mesh chamber also comes off so you don't have to worry about grounds getting stuck in any crevices. Remains to be seen if it will stain (color or odor)

Money Saver

I was buying the Starbucks cold brew 2x a week for $7. And this now saves me so much money! I fill it once a week with coffee grounds of my choice and it’s perfect. I had to move my shelves around in my refrigerator because it’s so tall but it’s still great and worth it!

Good Option - But Don't Fill It Up

I bought this for my weekly coffee fix. Unlike other models I have used, you cannot fill this up all the way. There is also an issue with the coffee/tea grounds rising up as water is added. If you fill it up your coffee gets grounds in it that you then have to strain.

An oddly fussy product that broke after two months

This product requires a careful routine to use properly. Any mistake will result in disaster ranging from “grainy coffee” to “completely destroyed and unusable product.” You have to insert the basket full of grounds before you add water, add the water slowly until only 3/4 full, and mix the grounds carefully after a few hours to make sure they are submerged. For this task you must use something long and thin without curve or you risk scooping the grounds into your coffee. (My tool was a narrow butter knife.) Then you have to let the grounds steep for at least 12 hours to get any kind of flavor in your coffee. Keep the pitcher totally upright without leaning it or it will dump grounds into your coffee. Carefully take out the basket after steeping, then return the cap to its place. Pray to your god that you have a shelf in your refrigerator that forts the pitcher without requiring you to tip it to get in. Always be gentle with your pitcher and never put it in the dish washer. All that said, the large part with the handle spontaneously broke seemingly without reason and I can’t screw it onto the cylinder anymore. So you can do absolutely everything right and this product still probably won’t last you 3 months.

Simple, easy to use, great option for cold brew.

I bought this cold brew coffee pitcher after much consideration. I wanted something simple that wouldn't require a lot of extra steps. I didn't want to have to strain coffee grounds out of a jar so I appreciate that this pitcher comes with a designated filter in which to put the grounds. I also wanted a large capacity pitcher. So this 2 1/2 quart one is perfect. I make one pitcher every two to three days. The instructions are simple. Scoop 15-16 tablespoons of course ground coffee into the center filter (almost to the top of the filter screen). Slowly add cold tap or filtered water over the grounds (just to the top of the filter screen). Sit in the fridge for 10-24 hours. Take out the removable filter, dispose of the grounds, and enjoy some smooth, delicious cold brew coffee. Coffee can be stored in the pitcher for a few days. Pros - The pitcher's components can be removed for easy cleaning. The lid is air tight. - No spills! The filter end comes off to ensure all used grounds can be washed out. Since all the parts can be removed, it's easy to clean. Simple to use. No multiple steps. Just fill the filter with coffee, add water, and set aside. Flexibility. I sometimes make coffee as early as 4pm the day before. If you're forgetful, like me, this is great! Cons - The end of the filter is small. It can be lost if you leave it around. My advice, clean and dry the filter then reattach the cap asap. The pitcher is tall! It's a snug fit on the top shelf of our fridge. There's just under an inch to spare. However, it does fit on the fridge door shelf, so... I don't know if it's dishwasher safe. I usually hand wash all the parts when I empty the pitcher so I can make more coffee for the next day. All-in-all, this is a great purchase. I highly recommend it.

Good cold brew, easy to clean

Have been using this for about a month now and am quite happy with it. I love that it is dishwasher safe, and that it comes completely apart to clean but is easy to reassemble. It does take a lot of coffee grounds, but it makes a lot of coffee! I generally try to let mine brew in the fridge for 18 hours, but I have drunk it after 12 hours with no complaints. I’m certainly no coffee connoisseur but my cold brew comes out with good flavour and good strength. I only wish the mesh part had something to keep the coffee grounds submerged while it brews, but other than that I am very happy with this product.

No return on defective item

This cold brew carafe arrived, but we could not remove the brew filter in order to use it. The instructions said a simple turn to the left should work but it did not. I went to return or exchange it, but Amazon US offered no return - fine for an item you don't like, but not for an unusable one. Most disappointed.

Easy to use, need longer brew time

This product is easy to use. In response to people who had a hard time opening the lid/removing the filter, just twist a little harder - there's some initial resistance, and that's normal, so push against it and your lid/filter will remove easily. Regarding the taste of the cold brew, prior to purchasing this I used to mix my coffee grounds directly into my water, steep overnight for 12 hours, then filter with cheesecloth. The result was a smooth, strong brew. I bought this container because I was tired of washing my cheesecloth and wanted something easier. I made my first batch of cold brew overnight last night, and was disappointed in how weak the resulting brew was. I'm assuming this is because the grounds are not mixed directly with the water. I'm going to leave the grounds in for another 12 hours to see if this strengthens up the brew at all. If not, I'll likely go back to mixing my grounds directly in my water and will use this pitcher simply to filter my coffee instead of using the cheesecloth. TLDR: steep your cold brew for the full 24 hours if you like a stronger brew because 12 hours will be too weak. UPDATE: I've since amended my rating to 5 stars. This pitcher does brew a beautiful cold brew; it simply takes longer than methods I've used in the past. After letting my coffee steep for an additional 12 hours (for a total of 24), I was rewarded with a deep, rich brew like I'm used to. If you're looking for something stronger and disappointed by the brew after 12 hours, double your steep time!

Great purchase

The product does exactly what it claims! Coffee comes out great and clean up is a breeze! And very easy to make! Until i had this, my cold brew process took way longer and was very messy! This product solved both those issues elegantly!
