Nothing but issues

Our pool lights stopped working ages ago and we haven’t gotten around to having them repaired, so we were looking for an alternative in the meantime. This came up and it was cheap (should have been my first hint that it wasn’t going to meet expectations) so I decided to give it a try. After charging in the sun all day, we tried turning it on but it wouldn’t light up. We were just about to give up when it suddenly came on, but were dismayed to see that the lights were super weak and didn’t actually illuminate anything. It’s more like a novelty disco ball for the pool, something that just floats around and sort of works but doesn’t really do much. It’s also small so it constantly gets sucked into our filter trap and has to be fished out every few minutes. We had much better luck just installing string lights over the pool to give it enough illumination at night to be safe.

UPDATE: It lights up

Does not light up my 13' in diameter above ground inflatable pool. Would need 2 of them for any kind of a night display if I was really needing it. Not very dynamic. Updating this review. I bought this initially in May 2017. Had it one season it was ok. The nex t summer we had a major hail and wind storm which the hail was so big it cracked the top of the light. The light still worked but the unit would take on water in the pool because of the crack. I packed it away with pool equipment at the end of the season not really remembering I even had it for 2 years. While getting the pool ready for use I found it.(I was not looking for it.) I sat it out of the way which happened to be in the sun for 2 days when I was out on our deck one evening and saw a light that looked like a Police car. I got up to look and see what it was, I realized it was still setting out. Well, it started working again! No, I still can't put it in the water but it looks cool sitting on my poolside patio tempered glass table! So, I have had it almost 4 years and it still works great. I wanted to order a new one but for a few years it was not available to purchase. March of 2021 I was looking at pool lights for the pool and saw this unit was available again! I did not hesitate one minute to order a new one for the pool! I love it!

Purchased 3 - all failed

First i must say, today i pressed the button on it and it started workin again... for how long it will work is not known, but it is . The on/off button is working.... like the solar charge. And color changing pool. All 3r lasted well over 2 months ,except #2 , it filled up. With water after a week. Now this third light is on its third month of operation. >>>>>update<<<<< This morning the sun hit it for5 hours. ,i then placed t in a dark room .lighted up and blinked just fine - for minutes.then dimmed, until it went out . I think its broke again.....although i enjoyed its effect in m pool... I will be shoppng for a better one with great reveiws next pool light purchase. $90 +shipping and taxes- crappo I

Product Upgrade Suggestion

We used it for the first time last night and it worked well . The projector would be most effective if it was stationary. Currently there is no way to tie a line to it . How about adding a loop at the bottom?

I have had one light for 7y and it’s been in the AZ sun the entire time. Other than fading it still works! Hope this be one lasts as long. ????????

It's ok if you want disco lights that are on the dim side and don't last too long

I expected the lights to be brighter on the unit, as well as a setting to just have constant on, but got neither. I gave this a shot thinking that it will provide some light in my pool, for the evening swimming as my pool has no light installed in the side. Instead, on a FULL day of direct sun, this thing lasts around 3 hours max. The lights flash on and off, each time changing from green, to red, to blue, to yellow... like a disco, I would much rather the lights stay white and just constantly one color which would provide better light under water. Update: this keeps getting pulled into the skimmer and getting stuck, so pretty useless.

Don’t buy

Used for the first time this week. After fully Charge in sunlight for two days it only lasted a few minutes then died. The next time full charge for days then it last an even shorter period of time. Not worth it. It was expensive. I now can’t send it back as defective because I bought in March … but had to wait for the pool to be going to try so now that I see it’s bad it is also too late.

Durable but not very bright.

it's lasted two years in the pool and every night at sundown it starts lighting up the pool. Not brightly, but it works. If your pool is lit up at night or even in an area of ambient light at night, don't bother. If your pool is pitch black you'll be able to see it's light show. I don't know. I like the thing. Wish it was brighter is all.

My two new Under-Water Solar Coloured Lights Show devices are working properly at all !!!

I have received the two (2) Under-Water Solar Coloured Lights Show devices that I bought through Amazon. I have ensured that they both have been switched on and subjected to at least two (2) full days of bright sunshine so that their solar batteries should be fully and properly charged. However, both of these devices do not seem to be working properly at all !!! When I test them, there is a very fast flicker of coloured lights, but these lights are very quickly extinguished !!! When the devices are placed in the sunlight during the day, they do not light up at night at all !!! Am I doing something wrong - Please ??? Please advise me at your earliest convenience so that these problems can be addressed and rectified so that my two (2) Under-Water Solar Coloured Lights Show devices can be restored to full working order and operating properly as they should. Lasted 1 minute

Very well made product, but after having it in the pool all day charging in the sun it put on a 1 minute show at dusk and that was it. Tried charging it for a couple of days, turning it off prior to sunrise but it did the same on the second charge. Only lasted a minute.
