Rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse

This product comes in a bag in a plastic container. First, you must rinse it thoroughly until the red/brown color is washed out of the bag, then place it in your filter. I used it for three weeks and I noticed no difference in the quality of my water, and I followed the directions thoroughly. It has pretty good ratings, so perhaps I was not using the product right. I was thinking about giving it another try as it is not that expensive. It is supposed to last two months, so maybe I did not leave it in long enough.

Works great !

This is my most favorite product ever. I have been able to put it into a hang on basket filter as well as into a canister. Works great on super dirty turtle tank- where 2 large turtles lived- I stacked the biggest option of these bags into the canister and cleared the water for a day. It lasts about a month with the turtles in a 55 gallon with a 110 gallon filtration system and weekly water changes. With my smaller tanks- I change it in about 3 months. I put it in 20 gallons hang on basket filters that also contain a sponge and some ceramic balls. I am pretty strict on water changes but the last few months work is taking over and I have been unable to keep up with weekly changes. The tanks run WONDERFUL with this in the filter basket and lets say about 50% water change every 2 weeks. Fish are all healthy, happy, breeding like crazy etc. I need to add that I keep live plants in all tanks, so that helps with the water quality as well. Over all - this is the only product I`d put into my filters and because they do not sell this in our local stores, I am super happy to order it from amazon every time- Thank you.

I love it!!

This leaves my tank crystal clear, lasts a long time And is ultimate bang for your buck. Saves me so much money with filter cartridges and does such a better job.

chemi pure elite

i was using this in my tanks but the water was tooo clean so i switched to the chemi pure blue and now i have a lil nitrate and phosphate which is making for a healthier tank

Happy Clownfish!

My son started a science project in 2014, which included raising (2) Clownfish and (6) snails. He researched information about different media and chemicals that would help keep the tank stable and the fish healthy. Chemi-Pure is the carbon media that came out on top as a good product. My son has gotten great results using Chemi-Pure because it keeps the water clear and toxin free. We will only be ordering this brand of carbon media for our marine aquarium. The Clownfish are happy and healthy. I give it (5) stars....

can't say it's working or not

I installed these in my fish tank's filters after a water change, water levels not good. A week later did my usual water change and levels are still not good. Strangely, the water is clear and the fish seem happy. But it is showing high levels in everything that can be bad for my fish. Apparently no one told the fish

Great filter media

I bought this for my son's 10 gallon tank with Platy's. We were dealing with the summer algae bloom and having issues with water clarity. 30% weekly water changes was making little difference. But after a few days to running Chemi-Pure through the submersible filter, the water is crystal clear. I highly recommend this for the simple hobbyist.

Works Beautifully

I put this inside of the Flexzion Aquarium Internal Filter 210 GPH 800L/H Submersible 3-in-1 Multi-Function Mini Pump for 50 Gallon Fish Tank. Someone had neglected the fish tank at my work, and the tank was very cloudy before I put this in it. The water was crystal clear by the end of the day.
