Best bang for the buck

This is a very nicely made, strong, high-quality fish tape. I know this because I use the material of the tape itself to make two things that require very straight, true, finely worked, strong but slightly flexible, ribbon-like metal: kalimbas and cleaning rods. (It makes a fine fish tape for conduit, as well.) I've broken these tapes down into many pieces in a vise and examined each piece. They never require very much finish work - a bit of sanding and they're good to go. The steel is like spring steel; it will work harden a LOT, but not until you've bent it several times. So it's very strong, but forgiving and not brittle. It is coated with a layer of something to help it slide through conduit, which may flake off if you bend or break it, but the stuff isn't difficult to remove and even without it, the metal still won't rust. SAFETY ADVICE: Get yourself some tie wire or heavy-duty twisty-ties for this. Fish tapes are considered dangerous, and are known to uncoil very fast without warning. This style here has never had that problem - you squeeze on one side of the red disc and it releases the other side. But, it's good to have those twist ties binding the thing shut so that you positively know it's safe. Then, even dropping it won't cause a problem.

Don’t ever buy used in excellent condition

Amazons idea of used in excellent condition and my version are obviously not the same. It was trash not to be re-sold condition

Absolute garbage, Unless you only plan to use it once...

This thing is absolute garbage. I’ve used a number of fish tools over the years, but the ones I had weren’t long enough to run through some pvc conduit that I recently ran through my backyard. I picked up the 50’ version of this for that task. It arrived with the first 3’ already unraveled and sticking out of the packaging, and when I unwound enough to use, could not for the life of me wind it back up. After 45 minutes with utility gloves and a screwdriver trying to get the spring steel back into the little groove to wind it up, I gave up, put some zip ties around it and returned it. Spend a few more dollars for one with a handle that’s a bit better designed, your hands will thank you for it and you’ll have a tool you can use more than once.

Don't go fishing cable with this

I got this thinking it would be small, compact and easy to use, instead of using a big one. But when i went to use it, it unwinded COMPLETELY. Had to get the one i didn't want to use for this small job. After, I had to roll it back, which took longer than the job itself. I return this product. Would not recommend it.

Economy fish

Great for speed work. Home depot stopped selling this because its cheap and it cut into sales of more exspensive reuable snakes. Good price. Set up multiple pulls ahead of time and cut after this is nonretractable.

It Does What It's Supposed To But It Is Definitely Not User Friendly

It was a REAL pain getting the line off the spool and twice as difficult to put it back together. I couldn't believe there wasn't an easier method to unravel it. At the end of the day - it gets the job done but you are taking the difficult route to get there. Despite that - I would recommend it if you want to get the job done at a very reasonable price point.

Good price for a tool that will see only occasional use. If not careful in using it, all the tape will come off the spool suddenly and 5 minutes or so have to spent putting it back on the spool.

Once you take it out, it’s impossible to put it back. Add a few dollars and buy a good one.

見た目で買わないでね

赤いリングは、使い捨てになります。バラして他の管に入れ直す必要あります。収納できるから便利とか思っている方はやめるべきですよ。物自体は鉄の板なんで腰は強いです。
