Great gate for deck!!

Love, love, love. Installed without any problems. Do suggest you look at video on the Cardinal Gate site. It makes you comfortable to tackle the task. We purchased two, one with the 10” extension and other with 21” extension. I love the gates - so attractive and appears very substantial. From reading the reviews I expect to get many years use in rain, sun or snow. We replaced a tension gate that you constantly had to adjust and turn sideways to enter and exit which was a pain when you’re going in and out training a puppy!! Was delightful using the new gate!! Should have purchased years ago.

Great gate - strange color...

Updated 7/12/16: Contacted Cardinal directly and they have offered to provide a new gate extension to me with the proper color (apparently they changed color formulations awhile ago and there are still some extensions out there with a different shade of brown)... that's great customer service! Original comment: Different color brown (cedar) than main pet gate (dark brown) - looks pretty odd when you put it together. I'm planning to call manufacturer after I've already put everything together. The gate functions pretty well but the color is weird.

Perfect Extender

If you need additional gate length than this is highly recommended. Was easy to attach and matches the primary gate perfectly. Recommend.

Good combo for outdoor deck

Used on top deck to extend the gate. Worked fine. Be sure to leave enough clearance at the bottom. On our old deck the gate swings close to the planking at the outer edge of the gate. This is the fault of the posts no longer being completely vertical--if they ever were.

Pretty good--just be sure to double-check it's locked!

We use this on my mother's deck to keep the dog and baby from getting to the lawn. I like the look of it and it is easy to install. We have, however, had two times where I thought I locked it and the dog got out. Overall, we are happy with it.

The deck builders were skeptical when I presented the gate ...

The deck builders were skeptical when I presented the gate to them. But after installing the gate and saw the ease to operate it and its strength, they made a note of the brand and one said they were going to buy one gor their little one. We are going to paint the bars black to match the rest of the deck railing.

This was easy to attach to the gate and mount, but the extension is a different shade of brown than the gate! We made sure to order the extension that goes with the gate we ordered. Will end up spray painting it. Other than the color mismatch it works as intended.

Pricey

It’s whatI needed to extend the gate, so mission accomplished, however it is ridiculously expensive. Almost the same price as the gate itself.
