The best hammer

This is my 2nd Estwing rock hammer. The first I purchased in 1978. After all these years the first one’s handle had started to deteriorate, so I purchased this one as my “ fancy” one. Quality is still there and impossible to beat.

I have had and used this company’s products for over 50 years. These are a must have for the amateur ++ geologists, not to be used however by younger children without supervision, due to the sharp edges, and the inherent dangers associated with rock shards.

The shock reduction handle is no joke, I hammer rock matrix sometimes for hours on end, and it is not telegraphing to my hands, fingers or wrists, I'm happy to state. Estwing is a very respectable name in the realm of hammers! Estwing Rock Pick - 22 oz Geological Hammer with Pointed Tip & Shock Reduction Grip will not disappoint one bit. I've been smashing and moving whatever I need to do in order to hunt for crystals at a dig site that I frequent and feel really great to have this wonderful tool to bring with me on my expeditions, it performs above and beyond any expectations one could have. Also, when I come home with some finds, mostly still in matrix, the hammer is so precise and great to use that I can trim down to a more salable size matrix and captive crystals , and hammer trim them down to a more manageable size as well. It's design is also helpful for clearing dirt, rock and other debris out of your way when in use at the actual site we do our crystal harvesting at! So beyond happy to own my very own EXCELLENT GEOLOGICAL HAMMER! YES! ! !

lovely hammer!

I bought this on behalf of my boyfriend as he needed one. he is studying geology and it does the job brilliantly when he is out in the field (not literally a field, though sometimes it is!) the shaft between the hammer head and the handle seems thin but it is incredibly strong compared to how it looks, overall, a very satisfied customer!

Unfortunately there where no instructions on how to use this hammer, so I just made an educated guess! This item is perfect for anyone who likes to hit thing with a hammer, I would recommend for any hammer enthusiast who is looking to add it to their collection! I personally like the small nail big hammer approach, also this hammer works well if you have a square peg and a round hole. It is truly a hammer of worthy of even the Mighty Thor, and reasonably priced too.
