THIS is the right choice!

This thing is AMAZING! I'm so glad I bought this. The trick is to wipe it down immediately after use. I drink more fresh juice than I ever have in my life because it's right there! One pull of the lever. It handles my grapefruits and limes and everything in between!

Pretty fancy looking (and heavy duty)

I had pretty much narrowed down my choices between this citrus press and another brand. While I was searching the Internet for a little more info on the Winco, I stumbled upon a great deal on Ebay for a new in damaged box Winco Heavy Duty Juice Squeezer with free shipping no less. Decision made (sorry Amazon)! I wanted a squeezer that could do grapefruit and pomegranates as well as smaller citrus. The bottom cup that holds the fruit is 5 inches in diameter (the other brand was 4.75). I tried it out right away on my grapefruit. It did a great job on them. Some of the grapefruit on my tree are huge. I cut those in quarters and pressed them. That technique worked fine. I have to wait til late summer when my pomegranates are ripe to try the juicer with those. If it works well on them, I will come back and give the Winco 5 stars. You can get a glass that is just slightly under 7 inches tall underneath the juicer.

Poor design

While the juicer is heavy, the center of gravity is too high, the juicer tilts forward too easily. Also, the handle is in the center, and long, so you have to move out of the way to bring the handle down all the way. Good points are that the juice cup is high enough to put an oversized mug underneath, but you have to watch for the tilting juicer or it will spill. My older juicer also had a spring action that held the lever upright. When I first was setting this one up, the lever dropped, and the cup landed on my fingers, causing a cut. Another time it dropped and landed on my shoulder with all that weight. A spring load would keep it in place when moving or cleaning it. PS, the juice was good. ;-)
