Good alternative brand sports ball

It's not a Nerf like I used to have as a kid, but it's a great alternative. From what I've read about the current Nerf foam footballs, nothing produced these days compares to the originals of the 90s, so I decided to give this foam football a try. Initially, I thought it was a bit slippery and didn't have any grip, but that could just be a personal problem with my hands though. Durability wise, it's holding up well. It's foam so it will have its scraps and scuffs, but I'm happy with the quality of the ball.

Great for smaller hands and inexperienced "spirallers"

Bought this to play catch with my son, the fact that it makes a spiral so easy is a huge plus because if my son has trouble throwing the ball then ima have trouble catching it and keeping the tempo going.. its no fun chasing a bouncing football .. ever tried? trust me . buy. the weight is also a huge bonus.

Whole Family Loves This Thing!

I, mom, am a huge Seahawk fan - season ticket holder for 10 years. However, I detested sports when I was a child and I've never even touched any sort of sports ball as far as I can remember. Ya, that would be too embarrassing! I have two daughters, ages 12 and 9. The 12 year old could care less about football. My 9-year old, however, spent most of the regular NFL season sitting on the couch with me, forcing me to write up depth charts and explain X's and O's. Classic mother daughter time! (even dad is a only a semi-fan). Truly, the girl surpassed my 12-15 years of football knowledge in a single season. And she's not even a tomboy. Anyway, she asked for a football this past Christmas. I shouldn't have been shocked, but I sort of was. We TALK endlessly about football while we WATCH it, we don't play it! So I came to Amazon and bought the best reviewed football I could find (this one). We've seriously thrown this ball around outside probably 20 times in the last month, as a whole family. Even I, the stereotypical terrible sports player, am able to throw this thing straight and true a solid 20 yards. Touchdown baby, go Mom!! So can my daughters. I cannot tell you how shocked I am that I can aim for something, and actually hit it with beautiful perfection. The children on our street come out in droves when they see this ball being tossed around! We took the girls to the last regular season home Seahawk game. We spent at least an hour throwing this thing around while tailgating. The Seahawks won that game, so we repeated for the 2 post-season playoff games (sans children). Other tailgaters liked our ball better than theirs and butted in! You can bet your last dollar we'll be having a session with this ball for our Seahawk Super Bowl party this year, and I will impress everyone with my new QB abilities. Seriously, get this ball! Good times!

AWESOME TIGHT SPIRALS LIKE ITS ON A ROPE!

I'me the childish immature 45yr old dad writing this review of what has to be the best foam football I have ever played with! Long tight spirals that just cut through the wind like its on a rope. Back in my day, we used to have to age the nerf foam footballs before they were usable. We had to leave it outside for a few months to get soaked by rain and frozen a few times in the winter just so it would be usable like the black max is right out of the box. We even used to soak the old nerfs and then put in the freezer to try to speed the process along :) That never worked as my mom always removed it saying something about the freezer being for food and needing to eat and all that. The price is awesome and with amazon prime, it comes right to your door in 2 days. We have three of them around the house and my son and I throw it around almost every day weather permitting and even indoors when the wife is out. ONLY CAVEOT - younger kids may have a hard time throwing spirals at first. It takes a little practice to get those wind piercing tight spirals. Not for me of course, but my 14 yr old needed about 20 min of practice before he started zipping in spirals. * we (me) even stuff one in the suitcase when we go away on vacation! Never a shortage of other dads/kids on the beach in mexico ready for a pickup game. Nerf also makes a soft foam curving baseball that we also have a ton of fun throwing. check em out...[...] What can I say ? I love this football!!!

Easy to throw a spiral, easy to catch and great for building confidence.

I love this football and its easy to get a real nice spiral with it. I use it primarily to play toss with my 13 yr old daughter - she loves it too. It's super easy to grip and get a nice spiral. Its also pretty soft - so its easy to catch. I saw the reviews about durability, but bought it anyway. That said, if your kids are using it to play rough-house football or they use it on pavement, I can see this ball getting torn up easily. For me, I understand the trade-offs and I like the size and weight. It has really helped to boost my daughter's confidence in throwing and catching a football. She can throw and catch a regular K2, but definitely prefers to play with this one. Hope that helps. And if and when this ball gets torn up, I will buy another one. BTW, my daughter and I have used the regular nerf football, plastic/rubber footballs, and the leather K2 football. This is my daughters preferencen ow.

Best for 7 year olds and up. Adults love it.

We have a number of different size and types of footballs from standard inflated, nerf, foam, plastic. This one is the favorite for the adults and kids about 7 yrs old and up. The size seems too large for the 5 year old because the foam is a bit too firm and slippery for the small hands. It spins pretty good but not perfect on each throw. Good weight so it will throw a long ways. the larger kids and adults love this football. For smaller hands of 5 year olds or smaller, we love the Diggin Squish Soft Kids Football found on Amazon.

EL producto es bueno, un poco delicado ya que es de esponja, el primer día que lo utilice de la parte donde esta el arillo verde la esponja se empezó a partir, no creo que dure mucho se partirá por la mitad y adiós a mi dinero.
