Excellent walker/wheelchair but recommend buying a luggage strap as a seatbelt
I purchased this convertible walker/wheelchair for my elderly mother to go on a week-long trip to Korea. The chair worked very well. I had read a review that the person riding on it may fly forward if the chair hits a bump, so I purchased a luggage strap to use as a seatbelt. My mom and husband insisted that the strap would not be necessary. I bought one anyway because I am the nervous type. I was very glad that I purchased the strap because my mom did fly forward a couple of times when my husband hit a bump while pushing her on the chair. My mom and husband said that they were very happy that I got the strap because it saved my mom from flying forward and falling off the chair. I would highly recommend purchasing a luggage strap as a seatbelt for the passenger. Otherwise, this item works wonderfully.

Very handy
I bought this for my mom a few years back and now that she has gotten alot less mobile this walker/wheelchair has been a life saver for me. It gives her the support she needs while walking so she doesn't feel like she is gonna fall and when she gets too winded and tired she can sit and I can push her like a wheel chair. One thing that you do have to watch out for is the foot rests cause if they forget to put their feet on the ground before trying to get up, it tilts the chair forward. Thats the only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. But I truly love this thing cause it looks nice as well as very convenient.

Could be so much better!
I love my Drive Rollator but when my legs give out I need to sit and be pushed. As there is no where to put my legs and feet it can be awkward, both for me and my pusher, so I purchased the Duet. PROS: It is sturdy and maneuvers well. The handles don’t need a separate tool (my regular rollator tool kept getting lost) to adjust the height for the comfort of the pusher. The seat lifts to store my purse and/or other items privately. The footrest is comfortable and stays out of the way until needed. CONS: The seat on the Duet, unlike the nicely padded seat on my Drive Rollator, is hard and not very comfy at all. The duet is supposedly made specifically for people to sit and be pushed, so why would you make the seat so darned uncomfortable? As we get older we lose a lot of the padding on our tush, so our bones need something softer. Also, the wheels are plastic, again unlike the regular rollator, so they don’t grip as well and can more easily be cracked on uneven surfaces. Why are they not rubber, which also would give a much smoother ride. Even with the cons, the Duet is still a good buy. Saves you from buying a wheelchair if you can still do some walking on your own with help. It is a bit heavier than my rollator, but still manageable to fold and get in the trunk. I’ll be looking for how to replace the wheels with rubber, and how to pad the seat, but would still recommend this to a friend. The concept is genius, but the product could be better.

This unit works well for everyday use.
My concern with this unit is the use for traveling with on airlines. It does fold up good, however the wheels do not fold together enough to stabilize it for transporting it easily. For use where you put it in a trunk, backseat, it will work out very well.

Satisfied, but with issues.
The footrest is a problem. When looking at footrest the right side tightens, and the left side loosens with each use. Eventually the right side is so tight you can’t move it, and left side is loose enough to almost fall off. You need to carry a tool with you to keep adjusting it. It could also use a seatbelt for safety. It is handy to be able to have a walker, and transport together.

Works great for now
Haven’t used as a wheelchair yet, but to get around a smaller house it’s easy to maneuver

Driver
The driver Walker has been great! I also purchased a drink and cell phone holder, which has made this even more enjoyable. It is handy to fold up for traveling and getting to essential appointments. Helps provide independence.

Good but not perfect
My mother has been using the Drive Medical Duet Dual Function Rollator for two weeks and so far it's okay. The rollator is well made and stable. It does fit through most of the doors in our house but it's much too big to maneuver in the bathrooms. It's tough for her to push/lift it over a raised doorway transition or over any curb of any height. The seat is a slab of hard plastic, the handle grips are hard plastic and the wheels are hard plastic. The problem with the plastic wheels is that they can slide sideways on smooth floors like tile, hardwood and polished concrete. No idea why they didn't use rubber wheels like on wheelchairs and baby carriages. The velcro strap that holds the foot rest in place doesn't hold. The strap always "un-velcros" and the foot rest gets loose. All the product photos show the strap undone. I've added a small strap with a plastic clip. The rollator is a bit fidgety to fold up. When folded up, it will not stand on its own. It also tends to "unfold" by itself because there's no lock for the closed position. You have to wrap an arm around it when lifting it in/out of the car so it won't unfold. My mother prefers a traditional walker because it's smaller, lighter and easier to maneuver. We bought this rollator so she can use it for longer outdoor walks and because it converts to a transport chair.

My wheelchair and me!
It's an absolutely good thing to have when you fall and break a bone. Very easy to assemble: all you need is common sense. It's not at all comfortable as the seat is made of hard plastic but, as I said, a necessity. You just need to find a good soul to push you forward. If not, you can use your feet which is handy. I found that if the front wheels encounter a bump along the road, the seated person is likely to fall forward. So, be careful, hang on! Compared to other walkers, this Drive wheelchair/walker/rollator is very versatile and also, quite inexpensive. I will definitely recommend it.

Did not use as a wheel chair but it is easy to change over
Works as promised, arrived on time. Do not expect this walker/ wheelchair to completely fold, can take up a lot of room, some taxis are too small. Traveled to England, and Ireland return, no problem checking in with the airlines, has too be sent in their over sized and special care area but arrived safely and no damage. The fold up lid is screwed on and both screws have come out will have to examine how to repair of claim under warranty, not a big issue but have to be dealt with, also brakes now need to be adjusted but it does have a number of miles on it with the trip over a number of terrains and lots of use as a chair with the brakes on. Did not use as a wheel chair but it is easy to change over. Also use the chair to carry 75 pounds of luggage, has to be strapped on carefully to balance correctly, but definitely a bonus, carry bungees. All in all quite satisfied with the exceptions mentioned above.

Exactly what is needed for somebody who needs a walker and occasional wheelchair
Bought this for an older friend who actually wanted a wheelchair because she found it difficult to walk long distance. The walker allows her to continue to walk when she can, helping with the maintenance of her overall health, and when transformed into a wheelchair, her caregiver could push her so she won't feel tired if she has to go longer distance. A great concept. I have several people asking to take photos of this walker/wheelchair saying they want to look into getting it for their loved ones.

Do your research before buying, this item is not returnable
For use as a walker only, it is very good and sturdy. For use as a wheelchair, it is only fair. The seat is very hard, and the seat back is terrible for comfort. The foot rest is a nice idea, and stows away nice, but the hinge part is poorly located, and digs into your legs, when footrest is pulled out. I bought this for my elderly mother, and when she tried it out, was not happy with the seat and backrest comfort, along with the footrest hinges rubbing against her leg calfs, which are sensitive. So I tried to return it, and guess what?THIS ITEM IS NOT RETURNABLE! This fact is not stated in the description. I wrote to the company, they said to return it to the seller, Amazon does not take returns on this So be wary about buying this kind of item online.
