Scent free

I have a 7 month old Havapoo. He has that curly poodle fur while also having that long Havanese hair. He also has an undercoat. I also have extreme sensitivity to perfumes and scents so scent free is a big deal for me. I wanted something that was gentle on his skin and hair, scent free, and provides a good clean. We tried another Burt’s bees shampoo type first which was an oatmeal one. That one was difficult to lather and we used about half the bottle in one wash. That one also left him smelling a bit like fermented kombucha and set off my allergies. After we switched to this one, I haven’t had any complaints. He seems unbothered and soft and clean and I feel like he smells like nothing. I posted a photo of him with me 2 days before a bath and a photo of him a couple hours after his bath. If you are looking for something scent free I recommend this one.

Suitable For Use

This shampoo seems to work well and not cause any irritation. However, as others have mentioned, it is very thin and you need more per application compared to others brands.

I always believe in Burt's Bees products. But I always get Burt's Bees products that burst. I fell for it at first. And I fell for it the second time. I won't be deceived any more. However, I am thinking of continuing to buy in offline stores.

Does a good job, but hard to tell how much to use

My 5-month-old golden retriever mix pup looks great after her bath, and does NOT have a heavy perfume smell, just a soft, clean fragrance, which I really like. Her fur is shiny, and she is not scratching as much, so I think the shampoo did a good job of gently moisturizing her skin. All this is GOOD. But, as many others have pointed out, there is virtually zero suds, so it's really hard to tell if you have adequately covered any particular section of skin. We applied a fair amount it to her wet coat at her neck, and along her back, and slowly added more water, working the shampoo down her sides to her legs, then we applied another dollop at the base of her tail, and worked it down her tail, down her butt, and down the "feathered" backs of her legs. We massaged the shampoo into every nook and cranny, occasionally adding a bit more shampoo when we couldn't feel it. Then we rinsed her THOROUGHLY, twice. Like I said, the shampoo does a good job...but we used about 25% of it for one bath. That seems like too much, but we only added more when we really couldn't feel it anymore. I wish the Burt's Bees folks would add just a bit of mild detergent, so it would foam up just a little.

Keep my dogs fur super soft but also clean!

The media could not be loaded. Scent smells good but not too strong, leaves my dogs fur feeling moisturized but also very soft and doesn’t irritate them at all!

Disappointed

I was excited that Burt’s Bees had a line of dog grooming products, but their shampoo and conditioner are disappointing. While it was gentle on my dog’s skin and ok smelling, I needed to use a lot for it to foam and my F1 golden doodle was left with rather dry hair. While it’s at a reasonable price, I feel like you have to use a lot of product per use.

Rich, clean, shiney Schnauzer

My mini-Schnauzer has short hair (not fur). She developed an allergic reaction to a groomer shampoo we think. Decided to try something more gentle and hypoallergenic. This shampoo worked. It is thick and rich texture so easy to dispense and move into suds. Her hair is also super fine and the skirt and legs mats easily. This shampoo was gentle and left hair easier to comb through while air drying. Just over a week after now and her coat is still shiny! I would buy this again!

Disappointing

I am disappointed in this product; this is the first time I've ever disliked a Burt's Bees product. The good: -Gentle: Puppy tolerated it (no rashes/tears) -Washes out very easily The bad: -Value: It took 1/3 of the bottle to wash my 20lb, long hair dog. Maybe it would be better for short hair dogs. -Cleaning power: Did not lather or scrub very well ( had to physically scrub really hard to remove dirt/poo/loose hair). The medium: -Smell: It kind of smells like honey but after the bath my dog just smelled like wet dog (no lingering fragrence).
