Great for odor control, but several caveats.

This diaper pail is a great concept, but there were several shortcomings that ultimately led us to return it after one night of use. 1. It's small - REALLY small. My husband and I are not tall people and we had to bend over to reach it. This was very uncomfortable to do every time we changed a diaper, especially because the trap door mechanism required a lot of effort to open. 2. The pail does a great job of trapping odor, I will absolutely credit Ubbi with that! The "trap door" sliding mechanism is really tight, almost too tight to make the pail easy to use. However, it truly seals out every bit of odor when it is shut. 3. Possibly the worst part and the ultimate dealbreaker - the Ubbi pail cannot be used on a smooth floor. There is no rubber foot/stopper on the bottom of it, and the force you need to exert on the trap door to use the pail makes the pail side across any floor that does not have a thick carpet or area rug. I dented our brand new nursery walls several times just in one night of use because of this sliding around. If you're not tall, and using the pail in a carpeted room, the Ubbi may work great for you! I can also imagine it working well for adult usage in a bathroom as a trash can, if you were able to secure it from sliding - as the short height would not be an issue when seated in a bathroom! However, as a nursery diaper pail in a room with smooth wooden floors, the Ubbi falls short of expectations.

Best Diaper Trash Can

We go through mounds of diapers with new twins and these cans are just brilliant. Use regular kitchen size trash bags, keeps the smell contained, doesn’t look like something we bought at a hardware store. Stop reading and just buy one or 2.

It works

This has solved our odor problem. It is sitting outside but we do need to bring it in the garage for the winter. Occasionally I have a little problem sliding the door open to dispose the waste but my husband has no problem but he did read the instructions and I did not.

We use it as a dog waste bin outside

I put a lot of thought and effort into what would be the best option for an outside dog trash can.. After lots of is there lots of reddit and Google searches, I found this guy. I have been so happy I can't even describe it. We had our 1st one for over a year, and it worked so well. I mean this thing is outside in the elements and Is is dealing with some pretty nasty stuff, haha. Is the little door and lock mechanism never once failed, and it did a great job with containing the smell and keeping everything from getting soaking wet from the rain, etc. I wish somehow I could tell the world about this haha!

Misrepresentation of options

Looks sturdy and packaged well. But It is the wrong color. I’ve ordered TWO in Slate color which is more expensive than white- and both times they have sent me the wrong (white) color. There is no option to just get the right color sent to me.

Pretty to look at

My baby has not arrived yet so I can’t speak for the functionality of this diaper pail but the color is beautiful and it’s aesthetically pleasing although it is much smaller than I was anticipating. Currently trying to to justify the cost as there seem to be other larger diaper pails out there with more features for less, ie ones with built storage caddys and foot pedal to open etc. *Updating my review 3 months later after using for some time to say that I love this diaper pail, it definitely keeps ALL odors out with a bag or without (bc my husband is a lazy bum sometimes) and holds a lot more diapers than I would have thought!

Bought for adult pads

I’m a mum and carer of my young adult son who needs pads, I bought this bin as my red lidded bin (general waste) smelt bad all the time! We put the number 2 pads in the ubbi singularly wrapped in a bag, the ubbi bin is outside and has no odours when locked, my general waste bin no longer smells bad, the ubbi bin holds about 10 adult pads before needing to be emptied, I wrap them in a rubble bag when transferring to the general waste bin to avoid odour but I’d love to purchase another ubbi as that would see us through the 2 weeks, it’s expensive but it’s worth it if you want an odour free general waste bin, I’ve read reviews on folk cleaning the ubbi and it going rusty, I wiped mine with diluted barbicide( use gloves) and it’s fine, expensive bin but in the long run saved money on odour products for the general waste bin, hope this helps I had my doubts but it definitely works for us

Well made

Great product. I use this with a bin liner and little nappy sacks. I know I'm a terrible person, but when you live in a flat, odour control is crucial, and this method is totally smell free.

The truth about the bin ????

The product is actually great, holds around 50 nappies (depends how much my child goes through in a day) we think the bin for what it’s worth is a little small and we found that this was not an odourless bin and it absolutely stinks no matter how many nappies are in there or how often the bags are changed it still smells ???? we’ve put an air freshner at the bottom to block out the odours.

Finalmente un cestino in ordine

Lo uso per i gatti, pulisco le lettiere e butto i sacchetti chiusi dentro questo contenitore che ha al suo interno un normalissimo sacco da 35lt. Con questo ho eliminato la schiavitù dei sacchetti per i contenitori appositi. Lo tengo fuori per cui l’odore non si sente, non sono però certa che in casa isoli bene come quelli apposta. È bello esteticamente e parecchio resistente. Assolutamente consigliato.
