Independence is PINK
I'm an independent lass. If something in my home needs doing, I want to do it myself if I can, especially when it comes to furniture and home goods that require patience, decent instructions, and a set of reliable tools. Sadly most of the tools out there are designed for men playing with electricals -- not women putting together a shopping cart or bookcase or new computer desk. The tools I've used before and own all fit men's hands well -- but not mine. That's why I LOVE this set. Though my thinking as I was buying it was my forthcoming transatlantic move for work, this set is one of the best decisions my little independent, DYI brain ever made. The weight, the balance, and the handles are absolutely perfect for my 5' 2" frame. The stubby screwdriver by Klein tools that I used just a week ago to assemble a new step stool was so poorly fitting to my hands that I wasn't able to sufficiently tighten the screws on it. Then I tried the Phillips #2 from this set on the same screws. Oh what a difference! What was hard with my other screwdrivers, including my Craftsmen tools, is a piece of cake with this one. The hammer is shorter than most, but also heavier and it balances to give you more power and more precise control than the competition. In other words, this is the basic set I've waited 20 years for. It's the first set actually designed around my needs as a woman to get things DONE at home. Independence is PINK! Go buy this set! And if you are sending a daughter or niece off to university BUY HER THIS SET to get her started. It's perfect for setting up a new dorm room or apartment. One criticism: the packaging it comes in. We've all encountered packaging that is so difficult to extra your items from you feel like you are risking an ER visit by the time you are done. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE PACKAGES. The seller needs a serious REDESIGN to make it easier to get out of the package and into your tool box. I couldn't believe how hard it was to get out of the plastic.

Great starter set when you want your kids to have their own tools
This is an easy to use and great starter set for small hands who are starting to help their parent. The tools are easy to use and comfortable. They are not toy they actually work.

Actual Tools, Perfect size for kids
These tools were perfect for my little kids. Great way to teach kids about tool usage and care. They are extremely sturdy and have a bit of weight to them.

These are PERFECT for my intended purpose: present for my 3-yr.-old son (his 6-yr.-old brother got a complete set of "real tools for kids" with metal parts a few months ago, and little 3-yr.-old has been longing for his own set since and trying to borrow big brother's at every opportunity)! The longest handles are about 6-7" long on these (adorable!!); the tools have a good solid weight to them and are fully-functional metal tools. I bought the smallest bag from Klein Tools that I could find (Canvas Zipper Bag- Consumables, Red Klein Tools 5539RED), also on Amazon, for my 3-yr.-old to store his tools in. Now he can tromp along with big bro and hammer nails and all the other things they do, with a pair of solid mini-tools all his own.

Cute and functional little tool set
I lost my old small hammer so was looking forward to getting this. I don't do huge projects where I need a big hammer so this is perfect and every tool is comfortable to hold. I was hoping the hammer was a bit smaller and lighter but it's still better than using a 12" hammer for my crafts. I like how it's a lifetime warranty because I'm a little nervous with how "gluey" the hammer looks and hope it stays in one piece. I also like how a portion is donated for breast cancer research. Overall, good little tool set.

Real tools
These are real tools, but short. This means that they're good for small hands as well as for big hands that need to reach into tight places. The Philips screwdriver is a #2 (the bigger of the two common sizes). An eight-ounce hammer doesn't have much force behind it (although it's plenty enough to hurt if you drop it on your toes), but it'll fit in places that my regular one can't reach. If you want to entertain very young future construction workers, then duct-tape some bubble wrap to a scrap board, and let them pop the bubbles with the hammer. My only complaint is that they come in "customer-proof packaging". You need a pair of sturdy scissors or tin snips to get the tools out of the clamshell. I wish that they used Amazon's Frustration Free system instead.

"Warning: This product may contain chemicals known...to cause cancer and birth defects...
I bought this at the end of January and put it away until yesterday, my son's birthday. As I was looking at it to open it, I noticed this warning at the back of the package. It says, "Warning: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects, or other reproductive harm." I appreciate the quality the tools, but had this warning been included in the 'More Product Details,' I wouldn't have bought it. And unfortunately, I can't return them anymore because I missed the return window. I will not be opening this package. I do recommend that all products with this (or similar) label notify Amazon about it so that Amazon can notify its customers so we can make informed decisions.
