Lightweight rollator with a classy look
Very light and manageable rollator that is adjustable for different heights, and easily foldable for storage in a floorboard or trunk. This unit has a nice seat and backrest, but it does not have brakes that lock the wheels when stationary. This is a big negative should you need to sit down for a rest. The brakes do work well when used for stopping. I did have front wheel wobble during my first use, but a 3/4 box end wrench took care of the issue. A cheaper unit would perform just as well in my opinion, but I like the unique look of the carbon fiber and the much lighter weight. It is working well for me so far.

Great walker
Only issue is bag tends to slide off posts and has no carry strap. Can not remove and carry bag when folding walker.

Changed my life
I have been using this rollator for 3 years, and it literally changed my life. It is so stable it gives me a sense of security. I take it everywhere. I have taken it to Japan, Costa Rica, several times to Paris. People comment on its elegance. On a recent cruise the waiters referred to it as my Lamborghini, sometimes my Mercedes. Going through airports, I set my carry-on the seat, my handbag on the handlebar. A suggestion: After the first 2 airplane trips I detached and left at home the basket as it invited additional scrutiny going through security checks.

The frame broke.
My husband’s Nitro Elite was great until it wasn’t. The frame broke right at the seat. It is not old and has been used very little. So what started out at really good, went to really bad. That is a lot of money for a walker known for strength, to have it break. It is a horizontal break on the inside of the frame. Has anyone else had this issue.

Great walker but NOT 12 LBS.
I debated with myself awhile before buying this rollator because of the price. This is one EXPENSIVE rollator. You can get 3 regular Nitros for the price of this carbon fiber version. I already have had a red Nitro for some time & it was definitely my favorite of a few that I've had. The Elite CF version is a plusher, somewhat improved version of the original. I'm afraid I was misled by the weight specs given by some sellers on line. Some claim a TOTAL weight of 12 lbs. The regular Nitro at 17.5 lb. I thought, Wow, 5 1/2 lb. lighter, I gotta get this. Well, what a disappointment when it arrived. It was somewhat lighter, but NOT 5 1/2 LB. This review started out being a 2 star because I was MAD! Actually, on Amazon, if you follow through on specs, you find a total weight given of 14.5 lb.(only 3 lb. lighter than the regular Nitro) The 12 lb. spec comes from the weight of the bare frame. I seriously planned on sending this back on the grounds of misleading description. However, now that I have it, it IS easier for me to load in the car (I wouldn't think 3 lbs. would be noticeable). It has an automatic self latching when closing, instead of the vulnerable plastic hook on the regular Nitro. The seat has a thin amount of padding now, making it more comfortable for sitting. The pouch is much nicer than the regular Nitro which requires both hands to zip. On this one, I have no problem zipping it closed with one hand. It was easy to accidentally slip the pouch off while loading my regular Nitro. This one is held on in a more positive way. And, it comes with a pretty good cane holder. Is it worth 3 times as much as a regular Nitro?? Well... It's NOT 3 times better. But it IS better. Depends on if you have this kind of money for just a walker. I think the regular Nitro is a much better value, plus the RED color draws a lot of fun attention. The Elite CF doesn't excite anybody. Like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Ferrari.

Nitro Elite Pros & Cons - update
The Nitro Elite is the 7th rollator that I've tried and my favorite by far! There are two issues that need to be addressed though: the screws holding the backrest on come loose and the breaks don't stay locked very securely. The screws that hold the backrest on seem to be missing a part that is on the Nitro DLX model that I bought in 2016. The hand breaks do work fine manually, but the locking mechanism is weak compared to the Nitro DLX. Pros: light weight at 12 lbs (without the basket), soft leather seat more comfortable than Nitro DLX, large wheels, turns easier than Nitro DLX Cons: screws that hold the backrest on get loose and can be lost on Nitro Elite, while screws are locked onto Nitro DLX, hand break locking mechanism is weak on the Nitro Elite (much stronger on the Nitro DLX) If Drive Medical addresses the 2 problems I've mentioned, the Nitro Elite will be hands down the TOP ROLLATOR on the market today, even beating the Rollz Motion (which I also have). Update Jan 31, 2019 - Thank you Drive! I am using a new Drive Nitro Elite CF and after two+ months, the brakes are still working firmly and the backrest screws are staying in much better. This is still my favorite walker for travel, but I do love the ARC LITE rollator by Drive better for indoor use for its sturdier design which helps me get into and out of my bed more effectively. Sadly, Drive is no longer making the ARC Lite, but hopefully that will change. ;)
