AWESOME PRODUCT!

This is one of the best target sets I have received on the market!! My sons are going to absolutely love this item. It comes with (4) magnetic targets that attached to our goal but also includes (4) straps that easily attach to our hockey goal so that my sons don't have to constantly run and pick up the targets when the knock them down. This also allows for them to decide what area of the goal they want to practice shooting at. These are extremely durable in feel, and have some neat cookie graphics. We weren't sure why two targets were white other than milk, but realized that they are like visibility targets as they blend in with the back of the goal making it even more difficult for my sons to shoot at. Franklin also included an extra sticker which is a nice added touch that I am sure will end up on one of my sons laptops. Franklin also played into the hockey culture as the boys are always running around saying where does grandma keep the cookies? TOP SHELF (the upper 1/4th of the goal) Would HIGHLY recommend this product to any hockey or lacrosse players.

Perfect for your hockey player!

My son plays all the time. Just attach them to and outdoor net and start scoring. Leave them up but I recommend taking them in during rain/winter so they last longer. We did crack one of our holders but we just taped it and it still works fine.

Works well without taking up a lot of space

I was looking for a backstop that takes up very little storage space and that can be set up and taken down quickly. The Franklin backstop meets these criteria. It takes about 2-3 minutes to set up with the tent pole fastener already attached to the back of the net. Set up involves inserting tent poles into the fastener, hooking the net onto the poles, arranging side sand bags, and fastening backstop netting to goal with clips. The backstop handles wrist shots and slappers. Sometimes the backstop swings from high powered shots, but it does the job without damaged netting. The backstop provides good coverage around the sides and top of the goal. The only downside is that the clips are not very robust. Two clips no longer stay shut. I'll replace them with more rigorous clips. Overall, I am pleased with this backstop. If you don't want to store a big backstop, but want something that is reliable and easy to set up, this may be for you.

Cheap Chinese Crop Quality Lucky too get a couple sessions outta these...

These aren't anywhere near good or even decent ish. Also with these u can only use hockey balls. If u used a puck on these they'd tear/rip and that's that.

Great so far.

So far it’s working great, have had it about a week with daily use. It went together pretty quick, I loaded the sand bags up with rock since I’m using it in a back yard rink and the sides stay in place. The bags attach to the net with Velcro, two strips on the bags sandwich the one on the net, the Velcro holds really well. The only downside: it’s cumbersum to move. I have to remove the sand bags then move the net unless I have help. Other than that it stops the pucks and has no issues with slap shots. If things change I’ll update the review. Also this is my first backstop, I have not used the EZ Goal backstop to compare, that one just looked harder to attach to the goal and not as robust.

Sandbag the weakspot

With the weather finally getting nicer, we were finally able to put this together and use it. After only a few uses, one of the sandbags (which is filled with sand as directed) ripped along the seam at the base of the velcro. Very disappointing as there is no way to fix it and the sandbags are really important to the effectiveness of the item. UPDATE: after a few weeks of using it the sandbags are now completely useless. Yes, you can still use it, but it isn't nearly as effective. Very Disappointed!

It’s fun, but it’s a plastic frame so durability is not great

This is a great product for kids to use, not so much for adults. I was shooting target practice with my 11yr old son and while doing simple wrist shots we were ok. Once we dialed up the power a little bit we hit the frame and cracked a target with one shot. That was disappointing as we broke it the same day we got it.

Does not sit well on a home net

This is designed to sit on a flat back net. Most home bets have a sloped rear center post. This doesn't not sit great on that. I had to weld up some pipe clamps to get this sitting correctly

Works great

We have not used the sand bags. We just let the net hang. It catches the pucks and drops them nicely so we dont have any bouncing back at us. Makes puck collecting easy. The poles can install easily so setup is quick. Very happy.

Fonctionne avec des rondelles

Mon garçon aime bien pratiquer ses tirs pour le hockey. J'ai été très surpris par la capacité d'arreter de vrais rondelles. L'attache qui se fixe au poteau à tendance à descendre vers le bas. J'ai réglé ce problème en insérant un collet sous l'attache, il ne descent plus. Je n'ai pas remplit les sacs de sable, j'ai mis des briques dessus. Très bon produit, il y a le logo nhl sur la boite, mon gars s'en sert tous les jours.
