Not happy!

It's smaller than expected, heavier than I thought! Wanted to return it, but they were going to deduct almost $8.00 from the total to return it! Plus I would have had to pay postage to return it. Keeping it, hope it works okay. Not losing $ 8.00 to return something.

Reviewing the Wilton Armetale Gourmet Grillware pan took a minute. The description says that it can withstand degrees up to 1000 but my oven doesn't go that high (of course) so I used this pan in a variety of ways. First, the handle. This gets hot so make sure you have a potholder ready. While using this on my stove the handle was too hot but still warmer than is usually comfortable. It's when I put this pan to the test on my grill that things 'heated' up. Prior to using this pan, I seasoned it. Not sure if I was supposed to but I did anyway. I rubbed shortening on the pan and put it in my oven at 300 degrees for thirty minutes then let it cool. I was not willing to let anything stick when reviewing this product. I cooked french bread pizzas in the oven at 400 degrees. No problem, pan heated up, pizza bottoms browned it was all good. The next food item was cut vegetables and again, nothing stuck and the vegetables broiled perfectly. Although, a minus goes to the fact that this pan is not that big of a rectangle so you can't cook enough veggies for an entire family of four on it -- that's the only negative. I then took the pan to the grill and with the grill set to low, I cooked shrimp. Nothing stuck although it was close. Salmon steaks? YUM MO. Nothing was stuck but again, I think it would have stuck to this pan had I not seasoned it first. The pan is expensive and unless you are a cooking enthusiast, it might not be worth your while. I like to cook and if I can cook on a grill instead of in the house, then I'm a happy girl. Natalie S. for Amazon Vine

Great size for grilled cheese! Heavy and heats evenly. I don't love the design, though!

There's a lot I like about the grill pan. It's a terrific size. I have bigger grill pans, but often what I want to grill is a toasted cheese sandwich or just a little bacon, and it's nice to have a bit smaller pan. It works very well to grill, going right over the burners and heating up evenly and well. It's heavy, which I wasn't sure it would be, since it's made with aluminum. And it's just the right depth, so it holds in the food in but still the food can be easily reached for flipping or what have you. Things I don't like quite as well---the rope look design around the edges. I find it a little tacky looking and also hard to get totally clean. I wash everything by hand, and this doesn't come quite as easy clean overall as I'd like. And the handle, although handy, and although most people might be less apt to do this than me, tempts me to lift the pan by hand when I shouldn't---the handle gets hot! I mistake it sometimes for a pan type handle. Overall, a nice pan. I think the price point is a little high, but if you're looking for something to get in on the grilled cheese craze or something just the right size for stovetop grilling smaller meals, this is a nice option!
