Basic umbrella

It rained today here in the desert, so I was able to try out this umbrella. It was very easy to open and close, and kept the rain off. Most of the water came off the umbrella with a good shake, but it still needs to dry completely before we can put it away. There wasn't any wind today, but it doesn't appear that this umbrella has any extra protection against turning inside out in a strong wind. This means we won't be using this umbrella during the summer monsoon season. However, it does have sun protection, which is definitely a plus for desert dwelling.

Quality, quality, quality- and a lifetime warranty

I love Tote umbrellas- they last forever without breaking- but just in case they come with a lifetime warranty. I bought the bright red- love it. Won’t lose it! So many things to love about this umbrella. -It has a nearly 3 inch wide Velcro strap to pack it tight when you are not using it….not the stringy little strip most umbrellas have, which typically break and the stingy little piece of Velcro falls off—-not this one! Nice strong thick Velcro holds it tight. -The elasticity in the wrist strap allows you to easily stretch it over your hand through the wrist strap and carry your umbrella…. Or guess you could hang your umbrellas from this wrist strap. -The one touch open is convenient- especially when your hands are full. -It is compact and fits in the pocket behind my car seat so I can grab it quick when I’m exiting my car in the rain. -The sturdy frame is stainless steel. - It provides SunGuard UPF 50+ protection which supposedly “blocks 98 percent of harmful UV rays and keeps you up to 30 degrees cooler”. - It has “NeverWet” invisible coating so the rain rolls right off and you don’t bring in a bunch of water when you step inside —so no rain drips to clean up. Auto open and close -- one push of the button opens the umbrella, one push closes it -The umbrella measures 43 inches. When it is folded for storage it measures 11.5 inches long. Stores compactly.

good umbrella from good brand at a good price

I have good luck with Totes brand umbrellas so added this little number in red. What I like: ++The brand. I have good luck with this brand. Good quality at good value. Their umbrellas don't burst on me in the wind. ++The design/function. This little umbrella works good. Folds up portable and just about coat pocket size. Hit the button and umbrella extends. Build quality is good and holds up better than those random generic umbrellas. Overall at current price of ~$22, a good umbrella from good brand at a good price. 5-STAR rating by me in consideration of price/value/choices.

Metal Parts are Very Lightweight, Pops Open Well, Wide Strap Holds Compact Size Well

I’m not sure if it’s a fluke, but I received a vintage style striped umbrella with shades of red, orange and other 1970’s inspired colored stripes rather than the solid red. However, I like this much more than just a plain red and am happy with the design. The handle is a metal-toned plastic handle with a button that allows the umbrella to pop open very well with ease. Before using, there’s a built-in wides strap of fabric with hook and loop (velcro) strips that holds the umbrella neatly closed. The umbrella rod and supporting tines are very lightweight, and seem to me to be an aluminum or alloy material. While the fabric may stand up to high 70mph winds, I’m truly unsure if the metal supports would. However, I don’t imagine I would be out in such high winds on purpose and so am not overly concerned about that. As for the canopy size, it’s quite sufficient for me as a full-grown adult. The umbrella fabric feels like a very good quality and with the extra UV protection, I could potentially use this for shading against the sun’s UV rays as well against the rain. Thanks for reading.

I'm happy with this umbrella

totes Sunguard Automatic Open Close Umbrella With water repellancy & Sun Protection I have no complaints about this umbrella! It's a bright red color, as pictured. It opens and closes easily. It's not too big to put in a bag or take on the go. It doesn't have a vent to help prevent it from flipping inside out, but I wasn't looking for that anyway. Overall I am very happy with it!

Well made and easy to use

While not the lightest or most compact Totes umbrella I've ever bought, this is top quality and works great! Umbrella is around 11 inches long when folded and weighs roughly 3/4 of a pound. The handle is nice and big, textured for improved grip and includes a big elastic wrist loop for easy carrying. Pops opened and closed at the push of a button, which is both quick and convenient (you do need to push the umbrella head back down into the handle manually after closing). Really well made and all around high quality umbrella/parasol.

Giftable. Great response to pushing button to open and also close umbrella. Nice quality wrist cord. Very pleased overall.

The umbrella broke a month later and I couldn’t return or exchange it. Not worth the price I paid.
