Five stars after some issues
This will be a very strange five star review since I did have numerous issues during and after the install. I am not a plumber, but I have installed a couple dozen faucets over the years and, on the face of it, the install is pretty straightforward and relatively easy. The unit itself is very beefy- even the sprayer. I swear if you need a weapon carry this faucet around for protection. You can beat any attacker to death with it using a couple of swings. It's very nice looking in design, and the finish is consistent and pleasant looking. The problems in installing; I have a 3cm counter and the escutcheon tubes under the faucet handles are barely long enough to fit. Also, the one on the cold side wasn't factory tight, and I learned that the hard way after the initial install and had a leak. I had to take it off and tighten it up. Okay, it's installed and working fine. Until the water flow reduced to a trickle after a minute or so. Took the aerator off and no difference. Took the spout part off, which is very easy to do, and the only thing left seated in the body was the diverted valve. That's when I made the mistake in calling the manufacturer. The guy told me to take the aerator off to see if it would help after I told him I was already three steps past that point. Dude, get off the preprinted troubleshooting guide and listen to your customers. After he finally listened to me he said he could send me another diverted valve, I would just have to email him a picture of my proof of purchase and address. When I hung up with him I decided to take the valve out and take a look at it. Removal was pretty easy. It has a plastic body with a hex recessed shape. I used a 1/2" chisel, pushed down a little and turned it counterclockwise. There was a piece of rubber in one of the holes, so I removed it, put everything back together and it worked fine. Okay, so here is where inspiration struck. The diverter valve is by itself pretty worthless, since all it does is restrict water flow. I took the faucet apart and removed it. Put it back together and got about a 30% jump in water flow. And about double the pressure in the sprayer. It works great now, and it is a very good value, even with the stupid issues I had.

Beware the sprayer!
LOVE this beautiful faucet, especially the built-in aerator/splash reducer; it's nice to do dishes w/o getting a wet shirt! The sprayer is a problem, though. Cheap plastic handle aside, a couple spray holes are drilled wrong, so water shoots out at undesirable angles, and goes everywhere but in the sink. We ended up tossing the sprayer and reinstalled our old, all-metal one.

Poorly Machined & Assembled
Do not buy this faucet. It’s super pretty but it has been nothing but trouble and customer service at Kingston Brass is so, so, so incredibly bad. It’s been two years since we purchased the KS1278A1BS Heritage kitchen faucet. In addition to the installation issues we had due to the poorly machined product Kingston Brass produces (comments on that below) we experienced a significant faucet failure in May 2022. While in use, hot water began violently spraying on me, my counter tops, walls and flooding onto my wood floors. Even though Kingston Brass says they provide a 10 year warranty, they apparently do not mean it. They won’t replace their defective faucet nor have they sent the correct parts to repair the faucet. When we call the company, we usually are put into someone’s voicemail, no one bothers to return the call or we talk to really rude, unhelpful people. I’ve emailed, sent photos and provided all the specifics Kingston Brass requests. Weeks ago we were told by a representative that they want me to send a video of the problem so they can see what’s happening. I asked if they were going to pay for new wood floors in my house after I shot the video. After four weeks of dealing with their nonsense, I was sent inlet gaskets that go on the plumbing UNDER the sink. The water is spraying from their garbage faucet, it’s not coming from under the sink. FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY OR YOU ARE RISKING BODILY INJURY FROM HOT WATER SPRAY AND DAMAGE TO YOUR HOME AND BE LEFT TRYING TO DEAL WITH A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT SAFETY OR QUALITY. The KS1278A1BS Heritage kitchen faucet is poorly machined and assembled. One of the inner pieces of the handle was put on so tightly that it caused the handle to push further back than where it was supposed to sit when in the off position. Also, the faucet spout was assembled backwards per Kingston Brass documentation and the inlet shanks are too short to extend far enough below a standard quartz countertop to allow the water lines to be tightly screwed onto the inlet shanks. Kingston Brass either needs to make a thiner lock nut or not be so cheap and add a few more threads onto the inlet shank so the water lines can be attached.

Upgrade Your Kitchen
Not only does it look rich but it provides just enough swing to do the entire sink. I love love the sprayer.

Very Happy.
This is a very well built faucet and I'm impressed with the finish and the weight. The Hot and Cold ceramic cartridge/valves were installed in the wrong positions causing the valve handles to open to the rear with the LOGO on the spigot facing the front. It was a simple process to just swap the cartridges/valves by removing and replacing them in the correct positions. When removed, the ceramic cartridges are color coded red for Hot and blue for Cold. With the "KB" LOGO on the spigot facing the front (facing you), the Hot (Red) cartridge goes on your left, and the Cold (Blue) cartridge goes on your right. The Valve handles should then open towards you. The faucet was installed and there are no casting flaws, pinholes, or leaks as stated in previous reviews. All pieces and components are just hand tight from the factory, so I did notice the handle extensions loosened after a few weeks use. You just have to tighten them up and I have not noticed any other caveats so far. Be careful not to use any hard tools on the finish or you will scratch/mar the finish. Overall, I am very happy.
