Unstoppable
I had only opened my first one from Amana with the 11/32" drill, and it vanished into thin air. I was in my own kitchen!! Anyway I wanted the same one due to the fact it came with the RIGHT drill (11/32"), but at $33 I just didn't feel it. This one is $15 and the quality is TOP SHELF. The two locking hex plugs should last a lifetime as they are robust and clearly hard-biting. These carbides are for the careful carpenter whom take their time with high end work. If you are in a high-production environment, and making toenail attachments, you are going to eventually snap the drill, which will snap some of the carbide, in which case it's junked. I haven't, and don't allow anyone to use it, either. But my buddy let a kid use his, and sure enough, snap-snap: broke the drill and both carbides. Like I said, if you are looking to drill holes in laminate, hardwoods, and hardwood-plywood, this is the key to making a perfect, bur-free countersink. Don't waste it on particle/flake-board, or MDF. Don't even think of hitting it to aluminum or stainless steel. You may sink into aluminum laminate, however, but not blocks of it--it WILL snap. For that you will need a single flute, which are amazing, also. This is the ONLY way to sink into aluminum stock. If you REALLY have to sink into stainless steel laminate, make sure your feed rate is slow-n-steady and the drill speed is less than 200RPM. Stainless steel gets super hot, super fast and will molt the fine sharp edge, however I have also done it. The shank is a standard 1/4" quick-release hex and speeds up work as most other stuff you just pulled out of your drill was also 1/4". The supplied drill is also of the finest order. Anyone caught putting this in an impact gun should be dealt with fiercely! This was a 1-beer review.

Hard Working, Long Lasting, Countersink
I have been using this countersink for over three years now and I am still giving it 5 stars. If you are tired of using the traditional HSS countersinks that seem to dull within days of use, this is the one to switch to. Yes it's a little pricey, but worth every penny. I am a professional and use this countersink in both the cabinet shop and in the field. As previous posts have mentioned, the carbide flutes are brittle so care must be taken to not drop the bit or use it in extreme angles. Even if one of the flutes chips, you can still use it, but the holes may not be quite as clean or crisp. I have broken many of the 1/8" drill bits, but they are easily replaced. I have also purchased long length 1/8" bits which allows me to drill and countersink for 2-1/2 or 3" screws. The countersink just keep on drilling, never seems to get dull. You won't be disappointed!!

Premium countersink
Just what I needed. Was putting shelving up in a new garage using pine and it cuts smoothly in the soft wood. Used in some birch and it cuts like butter.

Best countersink and drill w/hex shank
Very well designed, very well made. The whole unit is a bit longer than any other i have tried, and that is good because the bit can be set for shallower depth. I tried the stop collar from timberline and do not like it because it uses a different size hex key. I like to use "Ruland's SC-6-F" 3/4 x 3/8" stop collar because it uses the same size hex key(1/8). Fewer hex keys to keep track of. I use it for #8 screw, lengths 3/4, 1-1/4", 1-5/8", 2"

Skip the cheap stuff!
Awesome! The carbide tips are a huge improvement over its competitors. Built a small ipe deck (SUPER hard wood) with just ONE of these. Did go through several pilot bits, though.

Pros - Item received as described. Performed as expected. Cons - Very tip of carbide is very delicate, and both tips chipped a small amount within the 1st two days of use.
