Great-could have used original again-get strain relief tool
I would have saved a lot of time, effort & frustration if I bought the strain relief tool (pliers) in the beginning as they are specifically made for the job and work like a charm. Tool starts at $10.50, can't put a price on it. 1) Lay the wire in the bushing (I did not need it placed inside the appliance as I did this bc I had the tool). 2) The attached portion of bushing presses the wire into the bushing, kinking the wire pretty dramatically. 3) Use the tool to clamp it together and then wiggle it into the back of appliance. My pic shows the back of appliance already screwed closed but yours will still be open as you put it in place. When you let go of the pliers, it expands a little so it stays in place perfectly. There is no "clicking in place" of this part". Don't over think it and do as described. If you start w/ the tool, you can remove your bushing easily without damaging it and therefore reuse it. I had a short exactly in the bushing area from 20 years use of this portable heater, which probably got tugged on one too many times. I disconnected the wires inside, cut the cord ~6" shorter (removing the portion where I suspected a short), reattached all wires inside (I took pics before starting so I had a reference), removed any dust w/ vacuum attachment, added the strain relief using the stain relief pliers, closed up the appliance and voila, it worked again. It's good to have the tool bc these strain reliefs are popular on appliances. Hope this helps at least one repair person :-)

It was on time and the right size!! Now I have to return the other size!!
I used it for the lamp cord that I made!

These are for very thin metal.
Did not work for my application because the bushing body was too short.

Wire size limit
These bushings are limited to a wire size 16 gauze or less. Common use with light zip cord or speaker wire.

Works Great - For flat cables only, not round, and 0.5" hole
Looks like the one I pulled out. No play at all in spite of the fact that the thickness of the material into which I inserted this is much thinner than the groove in the edge of it.
