I have a new TempurPedic LuxeAdapt Soft mattress. I tried using the mattress cover for a few weeks. I'll explain what sleeping on this is like. You know how in the 90s/early 2000s people used to put car bras on the front of their vehicle, where the whole front end was covered in leather/vinyl because they wanted to keep it looking new? So many people wanted to keep the front of their vehicle looking new and not get a rock chip, and they never even got to see the front end of their car looking new after they bought it from the dealership, because they kept it covered. No one else ever saw the front end of their car without a black piece of vinyl covering it, either. That's sort of what it's like putting this mattress cover on a memory foam mattress. You don't get to "feel" the full quality of your mattress. You're sacrificing comfort to protect your bed from a stain. You'll see in a moment where I explain that I do understand if you have a child or a pet that regularly uses the bathroom at night on the bed. Also, this is if you have a mattress like I do, which has a removable, washable cover that comes off of the actual memory foam material. You could use a protector like this throughout the entire warranty period of your mattress, but why, if you're never going to be able to experience the comfort of what you invested in? With zero APR and 60 months, it is costing roughly $60 per month to own my mattress. I go without paying for a cable TV subscription to be able to have comforts like this instead, and so it works out. It is well worth it. Consider how much people pay just for melatonin and other herbs to help them sleep each month. Wouldn't it be better to feel the full comfort of your bed and sleep better and not be in pain, instead of always having to take so much medication or herbs to get to sleep? The bed I purchased probably comes out to the amount of money that some spend on herbs and other sleeping meds per month. If somehow something did Leak through and ruin this mattress, I would rather buy another mattress in six or 10 years than to sleep on a mattress cover for 20 years, which is to sleep on plastic that is sitting on top of memory foam for 20 years. Do yourself a favor, just sleep on your bed. No mattress cover. Just enjoy the pressure relief of your memory foam (whatever brand you own) bed. Don't put waterproofing/plastic on top of it unless it's a necessity. Feel every bit of comfort that your mattress has to offer. Don't worry about protecting it unless you have a special needs child, or a younger child that may still have issues with going to the bathroom at night. Of course I understand that there are other situations where a person may have these issues and may need this protective layer. Lastly, this thing slides all over the place. If you have an electric/adjustable bed and you ever use it to tilt yourself up and watch TV for a bit before sleep, or anything like that, this makes your multi thousand dollar bed a nightmare. Every time you move, the mattress cover moves. You already have to worry about sheets bunching up, especially if you have jersey sheets like I do. There's just no sense in having a mattress protector unless you or someone else that is sleeping on it personally has problems going to the bathroom at night, or you have a pet that regularly goes to the bathroom on your bed. In that case I would try to find some sort of material that your pet can lay on so that it doesn't go through your comforter, sheets, and then get on the mattress. I explain all of this to hopefully get you to consider something that you may otherwise not. Your choices are, feel the full comfort of your mattress, or sleep on a plastic layer on top of it. Do you want to sacrifice any percentage or degree of comfort? That is, of course, if you don't have to. If you don't ever spill anything in your bed, don't have an issue sweating at night etc. So, my personal suggestion is to enjoy your bed. Do not put a layer of plastic over it that is going to interfere with the comfort. I thought this mattress cover would be perfect since it's made by Tempur-pedic. It is not. Read other reviews about people sliding around etc. I am not sure how anyone feels that sleeping on this material feels identical to sleeping directly on the memory foam material.
