Maybe for home or a calmer classroom?

My students nearly destroyed this in the first few days of having it in class. It was a small behavioral needs classroom and they were definitely still struggling with respecting other people's things and playing way too rough when they knew it wasn't a rough play toy but a lesson aide. For my own studies, I've had luck with a smaller pomadoro flip timer with a dial read out and color countdown bar, but even if it's got the volume up I'll sometimes forget it's there. This is painfully loud and startling, so you definitely couldn't ignore this and it's hard to stop one it goes off. So it lost a star for the abrasive bell and difficult stopping it, something that can be a huge interruption in class. I think if you have space for this or a classroom that doesn't throw things, and you/your students don't jump at harsh alarms, then this could be great. It seemed a little off, as in slow one use but fast the next, even with fresh batteries, but I don't think that it's a major impact for most things. Still, lost a star there as it was the only option I had for a benchmarking assessment day and had to figure out if it was fast or slow which made it all the more stressful. These are my pros and cons, decide for yourself but double check the seller because some won't return or exchange a broken in the box clock as a colleague of mine discovered.

Great timer for the kitchen

Works well, nice loud ringer. I have it on the side of the refrigerator using the magnetic back. I only gave it 4 stars because I need to use 2 hands to set the time (one to hold it in place while I turn the knob). It would have been nicer if the magnet was stronger.

Great visual timer

Love this timer! Helps keep kiddos on task. I use it every morning so they know how much time they have left before we have to be out the door.

Great, until my toddler broke it

I really liked this timer and so did my 3.5 year old toddler. It helped me implement and enforce a 30 minute quiet time every day (this is a kid who refuses to nap or spend any time alone). We had it a few weeks and it worked great but then I guess he was playing with it and the inside mechanism broke so it doesn’t work anymore, and I can’t figure out how to get inside it to try to fix it. I thought, oh well maybe we don’t need a visual timer anymore for quiet. Turns out yes we do, quiet time has been harder to enforce the last few days but I’m going to shop the market for maybe a different model that won’t be so easy to break. I did love this one, and I liked that it didn’t require batteries, but lost one star because it’s not very durable.

Bigger than expected

I wanted this for my toddler son for long car trips so he can know when it’s snack time or time to get out etc. The visual countdown is excellent for kids who still don’t fully understand the concept of time, and I love that there are no batteries to have to deal with. Since I got it for the car I was expecting it to be more compact, like the size of a small alarm clock, like the size of your fist, but it’s face is as big as both of my hands cupping water. Should have looked for measurements more closely.

Effective

At first, I read all the other reviews about the ticking and thought, oh heck no. Thankfully, before moving on to something else I read a review that had a positive opinion of the ticking. I have ADHD and no sense of time and I got this timer for staying on task. I've used timers on my phone before, but the problem with silent timers is, somewhere during the 15 or whatever minutes I'm supposed to be staying on task, I forget I'm even in a task lol. The ticking of this timer reminds me I'm supposed to be working on something and have a limited time to do it. I stay focused and work faster/ more efficiently, too, because it becomes kind of like a race/game. :) I suppose the sound might be distracting if i was using it for work to write a paper or something, but I'm using it for chores, etc. and general time management. An added bonus, we go through so many batteries in this house already, it's nice to have something that doesn't need batteries!!! So the price you're paying for the timer is the real price, and you don't have to consider additional future cost of batteries to operate it.

Sometimes finicky

Great visibility and size. Kids really appreciate the visual and audio. "Brrrrring"s when time is up but if setting under 5 minutes, sometimes it doesn't go off properly. Nice that the stand folds flat and it's lightweight with no battery!

Great product but I got a used one.

Great timer, just wish it would have been in new condition like I laid for. Glittery glue on the back, smudge marks on the front. Obviously used by someone else. Still works fine and was able to clean it so I won’t be sending it back. It was definitely a return though.

Great visual aid

I use this to help my 5 year old with time awareness during tasks. It's great that it is so visual with the colour to help show how much time is remaining. Helpful that it is both magnetic and has it's own stand as we can put it in different places around the house.

Easy to read, strong magnet hold

Received the product yesterday. First thought was the size. It was bigger than I thought it would be, which makes it easy to read and great for kids visually as well. The magnet hold is strong and holds up against the fridge even while turning the knob to set the timer. The ring also is good. Not too loud or long.

Buzzer doesn't go off at zero - randomly goes off during last few minutes.

Great visual for my classroom, but the buzzer goes off in the last 5 minutes multiple times.

Love this. Had tried one from Amazon before (different brand with batteries) that I had to send back. This one doesn’t require batteries, you literally wind it back then to where you want the timer to start. Great for studying and if you use pomodoros. Recommend
