Works vertical or horizontal.

Works well to cover vertical GFCI outlets in an outdoor kitchen. Tough to find metal weather proof covers that work equally well both ways!

To BELL or not to BELL?

I have twenty exterior electric outlets and light switches on the outside of my house. Only one was a "double-gang" that needed this device. The others were all "single-gang" and used the corresponding TayMac cover. I am extremely happy with these. They were very easy to install, look attractive, open effortlessly, and meet the electrical code. NOTE: Despite the photo at the top of this web page not showing it, these products all now have the word "BELL" appearing on the front of the covers, in very large, raised lettering. I find this distasteful in terms of appearance, and odd, because underneath the cover is a light switch or electric outlet, not a doorbell button. It took me over a year to find 20 of these without the word "BELL". I bought some from Amazon, others from eBay and Home Depot. After finally collecting all that I needed, I removed the 20 cheap plastic covers my home builder had installed, and replaced them with these, resulting in a 100% visual improvement. The old plastic covers were so ugly that I do not want to offend your eyes by uploading pictures here. If you don't care about the "BELL", then go ahead and buy these here. If you do, like me, then good luck finding ones without. I think I bought the last 20. Nice covers.

Easy to install with multiple configurations. The covers do not stay up by themselves when the outlet is being used. I used a piece of copper wire as a prop to hold the cover up when outlet is in use.

Turns on with weather prove foam left in lid

You have to remove the foam behind the lid if your using a decor switch because it turns on everytime you close it.

The only bronze 2-gang metal decora cover on Amazon.

Disappointed that these were not flat faced like the picture but instead had big ugly “BELL” down the front of both flaps in huge letters. Also, they don’t open a full 90 degrees, only about 75 degrees maybe, so you’ll want to mount them higher than you think for ease of access. The hinge quality is very poor and the cover flaps can wiggle left and right so sometimes they get stuck on the locking tab without closing all the way. These get a star for being metal and two more for being the only brown/bronze option for 2-gang decora style outlets/switches around. If there were any other options on Amazon I’d have returned this one in a heartbeat.

Just got it and installed it.

Looks good, perfect fit and reasonably priced.....I couldn't find this in Lowes, Homedepot, Canadian Tire or Homehardware......Thank you Amazon!
