Great little tool

Living in the Southern Mid-Atlantic region, we get frequent storms that result in power outages. This little torch sits on my bedside, in case I need to find my way to the generator. I've also used it for many other tasks ... It will be a companion on Camping trips for sure. A plus is I can use the same batteries in this as my Surefire weapon lights

Impressed so far

I've only had this for two days, but very impressed so far. Rock solid build. Materials seem heavy duty. Love all the rubberized edges. Gave the battery life only 3 stars because I haven't had it long enough to judge. I'll be buying a couple extra batteries though to have enough to get me through any emergency. VERY bright for being so small a package. If you put this in a soda can with the top taken off it wouldn't touch either the top of the can or the sides. I tested it in the house at 0 dark thirty with the blinds drawn. If held over my head it lit up two rooms fairly well, but I wouldn't want to try and read by it unless it was down by my side. Down by my side it lit up the room I was in very well. Think the reviews and questions are intermixed with other Streamlight Siege lanterns. One review asked if it would work with a solar panel. It should, based on what I've seen, but not terribly efficiently unless all you wanted to do is top off a fully charged battery after use. If it's a Siege X it should work, if you have the time, the sun, and a good solar panel. Other reviews said that batteries other than the one that came with it, non-rechargeable, won't work. I can't see why not, based on measurements. All in all, this should be a good piece of kit.

Bright, Compact Light

I love the compactness of this bright and rugged lantern/flashlight. It takes some practice to get the button sequence down to switch from lantern mode to flashlight. I purchased a second 18650 rechargeable battery with more capacity (3600 mAh) than the shipped Streamlight (SL-B26, 2600mAh) to extend the run time a bit.

Tiny and bright light!

Was not expecting that much light from such a tiny package! But then again, it runs off an 18650 battery which has been a game changer. I’ve recently bought streamlight and surefire lights that run off 18650s and the power draw offers higher lumens in much smaller packages. So adding 1 more light that I can use my spare batteries interchangeably with made complete sense. I often take a couple spare power banks with me to recharge the spare 18650s. The higher draw shortens the time of use with these batteries. I think the batteries are between 2500-3000mah depending if it’s streamlight or other brands, so you can do the math on how many charges per your power bank. Can’t wait to buy another and keep replacing my old lights!

this guy is way smaller than I thought it'd be. that aside it is very bright. 3 brightness levels for the lantern, 2 for the flashlight. I haven't used it at length but first impression is good. super small, super bright. the battery arrives basically dead so 100% charging is necessary--takes about 5 hours to fully charge. unique 18650 has a charge port right in the battery which is a new one for me. directions state that battery can remain plugged in without risk of overcharge. i have high expectations once I take it to the wilderness.

Excellent bit of gear

I saw this on LDS Reliance channel on YouTube and decided to get one to try out. Excellent. I just used it for a week camping, using it for a few hours a night on low as an area light and it was just giving a low battery warning (power button changes from green through dual colour to red). The removable battery supplied has its own USB charging port built in, but the lantern will take standard LiIon batteries if you are going to be away from power for a while, so you can just put a spare battery or two in your gear. It also has a torch mode and a red mode accessed by holding the button down for a few seconds
