Do not buy unless you already have Verizon

We wanted to be able to keep track of the feral cats in our back yard so we could try to live trap them and get them to the Humane Society. So we though a trail cam was the thing. We ordered this with the idea that we could connect it. The Verizon store in town had no clues how to get this hooked up without our getting a Verizon account with an expensive phone and expensive plan so we could add an expensive data plan for the cam. The online Verizon site could only offer to hook me up with an expensive phone with an expensive plan and then did not have any way to hook up the cam. Chatting with them yielded 1) a promise to call me back after their tech services had figured it out (They did not.) 2) Multiple hang ups and endless holds. Calling them direct yielded a lot of “I don’t understand. Would you like to hear about our specials?” I have no idea what would have happened if we had been Verizon customers. Probably variations on the theme, I am guessing. So we are sending our cam back and getting a refund. It turns out that every cam on the market is a Verizon connected device. So I guess no one got the memo. We are going to get a T-Mobile security cam that is quite a bit more expensive, but we have had actual goo service with them over the past 20 years.

Excellent Game Camera

I have hunted my entire life and have had multiple game cameras however this is my first cellular camera and a game changer. I will say I’m very impressed as this camera takes high quality pictures that notifies me within a minute or two of the time the picture was taken This really changes my hunting experience as I will no longer have to go into the field placing my scent in the area just to check My camera. This is a high quality camera and the command pro app is very user friendly.

Works surprisingly well …

I was REALLY hesitant to buy this camera based upon the awful reviews. Nevertheless I liked what the app provided in terms of remote functions along with the Verizon network, so I held my breath and jumped in and bought it. To my pleasant surprise it works perfectly. Reaction time picking up on game is fast and it shows up on my phone in less than a minute. Granted, setting it up took a little patience, but I figured it out without tech support. I’ll probably buy another one.

Not what I expected

Be aware…after purchasing, you also have to set up an account with them and pay a monthly fee to get picture sent to your phone. The area we used did not have cell service, so it was useless. In manual mode with HD cards, was disappointed as well.. after a week in a high traffic wildlife area we only had like 31 pictures. Most were walking away from camera after setup or when checking. Otherwise it was random, blurry pictures of presumably wind or rain. Tried moving , changing angles, etc. will be opting for a different camera.
