Best Wallet Ever
The first one I had of these wallets lasted for 15 years. Eventually the zipper for the hidden compartment wore out, but the wallet itself was still going strong. I'll continue to buy these wallets for myself, and as gifts for others.

A very well made wallet with a few flaws
Before buying the Spec-Ops T.H.E. Wallet Jr., I had been using the same wallet for about 20 years. I've had my eye on all the Spec-Ops wallets for a while now, and when I decided that it was finally time to replace my old and trusted wallet I went with Spec-Ops. I've been using the T.H.E. Jr wallet for almost 2 months now, and overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. I wanted a smaller wallet because 1) I don't have many credit/debit cards so I don't need 25 slots for cards & other stuff, and 2) I have problems sometimes with my back. When a disc gets herniated, sitting down with a wallet in my back pocket is TORTURE, so I needed/wanted something with a small enough profile that it wouldn't cause me any/much physical discomfort when sitting on the wallet. The Spec-Ops T.H.E. Wallet Jr fit my needs & requirements. I like this wallet, but it definitely has flaws. If they were fixed the walled could be so much better. Now, on to the review. The physical construction of the wallet is great. There were no loose/hanging threads when I opened the bag and took out the wallet for the first time. It isn't double stitched, but it looks tough and sturdy. This sounds silly/stupid, but it took me almost a week to figure out how to close the wallet (there aren't any directions/instructions in the bag). When open, (looking left to right) on one end is a see-through pocket and on the other side it has 2 holes for stringing a cord through (if you want to carry the wallet on your neck). There is 3” of extra material that make up a flap at the right end of the wallet with 2 small fold points. To securely close the wallet, you first fold/close the wallet it as you would for any other bi-fold wallet (folding in the middle). Then you fold the flap back over the body of the wallet, and finally you tuck the tongue of the flap into a pocket made for securely closing the wallet. I posted pictures of this so it may make more sense. Getting credit cards and other things into T.H.E. Jr can at times be tough to do. To say that cards fit snugly in this wallet is an understatement - it can be downright HARD to get cards into (and out of) parts of the wallet. I used the outside see through pocket for my driver’s license, which I love. I can just pull out my wallet and show my DL without having to take it out. Since this is a bi-fold style wallet, the inside of the Spec-Ops THE Jr is broken up into a left and right side (if you are using it traditionally and not wearing it around your neck). On the left side is a see-through pouch, a zippered pouch behind the see through one, and more space under these 2 pouches. On the right side are 5 slots for credit cards, with 2 spaces under the card slots for additional storage. The area for cash has a zippered pouch that runs the full length of the wallet. I like the wallet, but as I said earlier it could be better. The 1 key issue I have with T.H.E. Jr wallet is that the wallet is juuuuuust a bit too small/tight in certain places, which makes it impossible to put a credit/debit card/anything in those spaces. As I said before, there are 5 main slots for credit cards, but I can only get cards into the bottom 3 spots. Spot 4 & 5 are impossible to get a card into. As a matter of fact, the 5th spot is hampered by what I can only describe as a design flaw. The top edge of the cash slot tapers down INTO the 5th card slot, making it impossible for a credit card to fit (see picture). I find it incredibly hard to believe that nobody at Spec-Ops noticed this, so it kinda irritates me to think that they know about this issue and haven’t fixed it. The other spaces for putting things into also suffer from this spacing issue. I should be able to fit store coupon cards or business cards into these places, but I can’t. If there was 1/16 more space it would be a perfect wallet! If I had more credit/debit cards then I’d probably give the Spec-Ops T.H.E. Jr wallet 3 stars due to the spacing issue, but since I only have 3 cards I’ll give it a 4.

Very Different from a traditional leather wallet.
I'm transitioning from a freshly worn out traditional leather bi-fold wallet. I typically buy whatever is on sale at Kohl's to fulfill my money-carrying needs, but this time I wanted something that will LAST instead of slowly dissolving in my buttside pocket. I researched (ad nauseum) canvas/cordura wallets and came upon the Spec-Ops T.H.E. Wallet J.R. There is a lot of love out there for these "innovative" wallets and, for the most part, it's deserved. Here are my thoughts that aren't already on the every YouTube review: - It's bigger than my old wallet by about 0.5 inches all the way around. It fits snuggly inside my Levi's, but barely squeezes into my slacks. - Its size is noticeable when it's full and if you have more than 6 pieces of plastic, it gets thick quickly. It will hold 8-10 cards easily, but the Costanza Effect of the wallet will magnify. - The "shark-bite" latch takes some getting used to. I LOVE that it doesn't use velcro, but the latch does add a 1/4 inch. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it's wasted space. It's a love-hate thing. - The zippers are standard metal zippers that add some bulk. Not much, but it's noticeable if you're coming from a leather wallet like me. I adore having a hidden pocket inside, but I'd have liked rubber zippers. - The non-J.R. version (I bought both for comparison) is gigantic. It's bordering on not being a wallet; Add some para-cord and you can have a man-purse. - The material is very rigid and feels strong, but it has very little give. I'm hoping it conforms more to my pocket. - The black is sexy. I've always had mahogany leather... I feel like a SWAT member with this wallet. - The stitching is incredibly well done and tight. I don't foresee any kind of degradation happening here. Stitch points are almost always the first to go in clothing/accessories so it's nice to see a lot of thought went into preventing that. - There is a lifetime warranty on the wallet. If it gets damaged or breaks, send it in. I like that a lot and it was the deciding factor for me. Overall, it's a very good wallet. I'll add some more thoughts later on. It's also forcing me to evaluate what I actually NEED to keep in my wallet. I have roughly 12 gift cards and loyalty cards that I just don't need (especially since a number of smartphone apps let you digitally store them). I may buy the mini as well just for comparisons sake too, but for now, this is best wallet I've owned so far. I couldn't give it 5-stars because the shark bite latch irks me a bit.

Just Replaced First One After 10+ Years!
Superbly sturdy, versatile, and QUIET choice. I’ve been carrying this type of “field” wallet for over 40 years. I just replaced my original purchase of THE Wallet Jr. after well over 10 years of daily use in field and routine use because the sturdy plastic ID window finally cracked. This model is by far the most durable and flexible style I’ve ever found. Due to SPECOPS’s innovative “Shark” closure, there are no noisy, pesky Velcro fasteners to fight. It easily serves as an EDC wallet for all but suit wear occasions. In contrast to the larger version, this model size is much more suitable for jeans or cargo pocket carry (the larger, original version is great for neck wear). THE Wallet Junior can indeed be worn around the neck with 550 cord or dog tag chain but it shines in pocket carry. It’s so rare that one can buy an expendable product like this 10+ years later and still receive the same quality construction.
