Good Hair Styling Product!

This is the definitely the best hair styling clay I've ever found. Smells like aftershave and I am ok with it. It isn't greasy or oily. I tried it on dry hair and it was holding my style well. It doesn’t have a solid hold and is well suited for medium hold styling. Didn’t notice any irritation of scalp or didn’t observe any dandruff after using few times. My wife tried it once on her wavy hair and said it worked pretty good in keeping the style and shine. Would go for it again!!

Strong hold, mild scent

Hold is fairly strong, though it definitely depends on how much you use. Will hold all day if used correctly. Scent is masculine but not too overpowering and fades after a little bit. Container is sturdy and won’t break if dropped.

Light hold, mild scent

I originally intended this product to go to my husband, who uses similar products daily. I always use a spackle or finishing paste on my own (long and wavy) hair myself, so I decided to try it first. I would say its claims to be high hold are a bit exaggerated, at least for longer hair. But it provides a nice finish, helps keep down flyaways, and doesn't smell too aftershave-y like some comparable products do. The lighter hold and mild scent are actually what made me decide this might be a better fit for my pre-teen son. He has recently graduated from monthly buzz cuts by Mom. Now that he's getting his hair cut by a professional, he has very specific ideas about what he wants his hair to do ???? My husband has been showing him how he can style his hair with his products, but I generally find them to be too greasy and too heavily scented. He's not old enough yet to smell like he bathed in aftershave. This product has a very mild scent. It's not neutral; it's definitely more masculine. But it's not overpowering and it doesn't linger. Perfect. Just like his dad did, I showed him how to use just a little bit, warmed up on his fingers, applied evenly through the areas he wants to style. He really finds this easy to work with. It's not overly sticky, and as long as he uses a small amount, his hair isn't greasy and neither are his hands after applying. It provides good hold that lasts all day. The container looks stylish and high-end. Having his own "hair goop" makes my son feel very grown up, and I love that the packaging makes him feel it's even cooler. I would say this product is likely a good fit for anyone looking for a light- to medium-hold styling or finishing product. I realize I'm likely not the target demographic for this product, but I was really happy with the additional hold and finish it gave my medium-length waves, as well as its performance on my son's short hair. Its mild scent is another aspect I'd give it high marks for. If you're in the market for a product like this that doesn't have an overpowering, in-your-face scent, this is a solid option. Overall, we're very pleased. I will likely continue to buy this for my son. He, of course, is thrilled with it. Highly recommend!

Maximum hold lasts all day plus

GIBS Outlaw Hair Spackle (4 oz) touts ‘High Hold Matte Finish’ and ‘Made in the USA’. On the bottom of the jar (photo included) a ‘24M’ symbol I had to research informs the buyer that the product is best used within 24 months of opening. The jar is very heavy plastic (don’t need to worry about it cracking if you drop it) with a metal lid - interesting touch. The spackle’s scent is pleasantly masculine in the jar, but of course not as strong or noticeable once applied. This product is definitely on the waxy end of the hair product scale, and as such requires some warm-up in the hands before applying to your hair. Once applied, the sparkle provides maximum hold which lasted all day for me and into the next morning. By that I mean my hair was really wild in the morning - standing straight up and stiff. Perhaps I used a tad too much of the spackle; certainly some experimenting is expected to determine the proper amount for each person’s perfect desired results. For me, I think GIBS Outlaw Spackle is a bit too high hold. I tend more towards lighter waxes and creams which hold most of a day but not into the next day. But if maximum hold is your preference, this product seems a good one to try!

Good hold

It has a decent hold. My husband actually likes it and he’s picky. It does smell like shaving cream. I’d say it’s bearable. Good amount size container. Very smooth. Leaves no flakes and didn’t irritate his scalp.

Great hold and keeps shining

Good product if you are into this type of application for hair sustainability. It’s not as thick of some others but has a nice clean smell and does a good job of keeping the hair in place.
