"antique brass" is just black with paint brush strokes! Not patina as in web page picture.

The finish is not like the patina/aged dull brass in the web page picture AT ALL, and there are NUMEROUS reviews that say that. The finish is made by painting the item black and then running a stiff brush across the wet paint. NOT good and will have a tendency to wear off. The finish in the web page picture is an aged brass that would NEVER wear off since that is the base material! The upper section with the lock and deadbolt is also flimsy and suffers from the same inadequate finish; it will DEFINATELY be worn off after six months of use since a person's hand and key are always contacting the surface when unlocking/locking. At this price, a MUCH sturdier lock and inside door knob was expected. The lock mechanism and door knob are cheap residential parts that can be found in a $15 lock set. Note too that the inside of the set does NOT have the Gregorian scrolled bezel/plate used on the exterior. Instead it has a plain round bezel. Which means if this lock set is used on a house with an entry vestibule, the inside of the lockset won't match the interior door of the vestibule's lockset. Curiously, Schlage sells an interior bathroom/privacy door-set which has the Gregorian scrolled bezel on BOTH sides/knobs! UPDATE: Now I need to refinish the door! One additional small issue; the cap over the handle's bottom bolt is plain dull brass and does NOT match the rest of the handle-set! All-in-all the handle-set looks OK, and it looks like a worn door handle, but I would rather have had the dull brass I expected from the web page pics!

Nicely Made, but wrong product.

I did finally get the one in the finish I wanted from other source. This is a very nice product. It is kind of a dark brass with what appear to be black horizontal brush strokes on the handle. It is the Antique brass. If you go to Schlage website, you can see the true colors.

Beautiful set!

I purchased just the deadbolt and loved it so when this set came up I grabbed it as well! The full set looks great on the front door and the deadbolt only really dressed up my side door too! Great buy for sure!

Great Lock Set

Twenty three years ago I purchased a Schlage entry set for the home that I live in now. Purchased Schlage again for my new home. Why?? Because I had no issue with the set that is now 23 years old, other than injecting a anti-corrosion inhibitor in the key tumblers every few years.

DIY job, very satisfied

Looks great on my front door. I replaced the one from 20 years ago. I had to repaint the entire door because the new unit revealed the old paint since the face plates are not of the same size. Would buy again, I think this is the best in the market if you are looking for a rustic look.
