This is the Answer to Our Stroller Dilemma!
Our biggest struggle when traveling, even a short distance, is having room for our double stroller. This is the answer! With a 3-year-old and a 5-month-old, we have to travel with LOTS of stuff. The hardest thing to accommodate is the large, double stroller. Either we take that and very little actual luggage, or we take the small stroller and hope the 3-year-old doesn’t need to be carried. With this roof top bag, we no longer have to make that difficult choice. The construction of the bag is heavy duty, not only the material of the bag but also the straps and zipper. The zipper opens it up on 3 sides which makes it easier to load. The slip mat that goes on the roof & under the bag, is thick and slightly tacky. It reminds me of the non-slip shelf & drawer liner rolls you can find at any kitchen retailer, but heavier. There’s also industrial strength Velcro at various spots below the zipper to keep the upper flap in place. Putting the 2 upper straps through the single loop of the lower strap is a struggle. Thankfully there were 2 of us so we could pull & loosen from each side without one going from side to side. We were also able to get the zipper in place easier with 2. It fit perfectly on our Toyota Highlander, without the cargo rails. I’m not a huge fan of the hooks that go into the weather-stripping slot so hopefully we’ll get roof rails soon. The storage bag is heavy canvas and a bit of a tight squeeze, but we were able to fold and roll the roof bag to make it fit, then the liner and short straps slid in easily. Today was our practice run to make sure it would fit our needs as we have a long journey planned in 2 months, so I’ll be back to update after the adventure. All in all, we’re really happy with this cargo bag, and hopefully it holds up to travel for at least the next 5 years when stroller worries are a thing of the past!

Very good bag!
Overall this is a very good bag. It's small enough that it fits on a car that very few people would probably think to put on, a Subaru BRZ. It's big enough to more than double my cargo space. I camp and getting gear to the site with a BRZ is tough. I've tried a lot of approaches before getting this rooftop carrier and this is hands-down the best I've tried. The bag is tough and waterproof. I went through a big rain storm for about 20 miles & 30 minutes, not a drop of water inside the bag. I was a little worried that it would end up slipping around and break my rear antenna but decided to risk it. The bag did not move, not even a tiny little bit. This is at speeds up to 75 mph. Given how happy I was with the bags performance I was torn on giving it 4 or 5 stars, if there was a 4.5 I'd have given it that. There are two issues that made me go with 4 stars. The first is that it cannot be strapped down until it's fully loaded. You have to load everything, zip it shut, then strap it down. Which means if you forgot something while loading or need something on the road you have to redo the whole process. It comes with release buckles, but once you've tightened down the straps you can unbuckle them, but their too tight to buckle back up without loosening the straps. So planning ahead is crucial. The second is the straps themselves. I think I understand why they used double-straps on the bag but the bag straps come together through a loop for the hook that connects to the sill on the car. What this means is that you have 8 straps off the bag, in 4 pairs. Each pair goes through a loop that connects to a hook for the sill. Tightening the straps becomes a battle because the two straps in a pair conflict with each other and get in their own way. So getting the thing down tight is a lot of back-and-forth. Also, I managed to break one of the tensioner pieces on a strap while tightening. It didn't matter in the end, but it was a little disappointing. For the price it's a great rooftop carrier. It's also one of the few choices that is small enough for a very small car. If I ever need another I'd buy this again, but I hope they address the issues I've mentioned.

Large, well made of good materials
I have a Kia Soul, that means it is a small car. With that said, it actually has a lot of interior room, well until we load in the dog (beagle) and extremely overweight and old cat (stray). The cat demands that she have her large, wire carrier to ride in, the dog doesn’t care. However, that takes up almost all of the room in the back. That is where this roof bag comes in. The bag is very well made of vinyl and tight zippers. Over the zippers is a flap that is velcro’d down. The interior room is large, I would say the stated size of 15 cu ft is very close to the size. For me, this will fit inside my roof racks nicely and will attach to them. I will not be attaching these to the inside of my door panel, as suggested by the directions, as I have no intention of loosening up the door seals. There is a piece that is supposed to protect the bag from the car top, but my roof rack has a base and rails on all 4 sides, so I won’t be using the insert piece for that. For me, this product is well made, well designed and should meet my requirements. In about a month we are going on a 2,000 mile trip so I will update after we return from that. For now, I give this 4 stars, as I cannot say how well it will work out and last on a long trip. I will return to this review in 6 months or less to give an update. For now, it looks like a pretty good buy. Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. I write all of my reviews to reflect my personal observations and opinions on a product. It matters not if I have purchased the item myself or if it was provided to me for review. My goal is to provide other potential customers as much real-world knowledge as possible to make an informed decision. In most cases I will return to my review in 6 months or less to see if I should alter my original observations. In no case will the cost of a product influence my opinions at all. In addition, I will try to include multiple images and or videos on each product, if practical.
