Perfect bike
I bought this bike for my daughter, who just turned 6. It was love at first sight. This is a great kids' bike. First, it looks sharp - like a higher end road bike. The pink and the name "Buttons" say it's for a girl, but the look of the bike says it's still the real deal. Assembly was easy, though the font on the instruction sheet was way too small for my no longer young eyes. From opening the box to fully-assembled and ready to go took me about 20 minutes. I used my own tools, but the ones provided in the kit seemed adequate. As soon as my daughter saw it, she wanted to ride it. She's little for her age, only 3.5 feet tall. I bought the 16-inch wheel model, hoping she'd get years of use out of it. It's the tiniest bit big for her right now, she can only kinda get the balls of her feet on the ground when she's sitting with the seat as low as I can get it. But we took it out to the driveway, and she climbed on. And took off. The wide road tires give the little rider confidence, and the gear ratio provides a lot of oomph from pedaling. It's pretty speedy. When she went for her first turn, I was concerned about the supposed limited range of motion of the handlebars, but she made a pretty sharp turn (she was preoccupied with ringing the bell) with nary a problem. Now she wants to ride every day, and I'm going to have to buy a stupid bike, too, because it's hard to keep up with her now. Is that what this all is? A trick to get me to buy a more expensive bike for myself? Buttons is a great bike. I think they're going to be friends for a long time. And the bell is adorable.

Nice little begginer bike
I got the 12" white and blue version from Amazon Warehouse deals. It was in used condition, but the "used" looked like someone tried to put it together, got stuck, took things off, and sent it back. What I like: * The 12" size is a good fit for my almost 4 year old son, who is around 40" tall. He can comfortably reach the ground with the seat in the lowest position. This bike should last him for a year, or a little more, until he can get on his brother's 16" bike... * It looks well made. It's solid. The colors work together well, and it looks way better without every possible cartoon character printed on it. * It comes with the training wheels - a big plus, since you don't have to get them separately, and you know they'll fit. There also is a little bell in the box, the 3$ kind, but it's nice to have it. * It has a hand break, and pedal break. Not always a case with 12" bikes. I'm glad it does! My son does better with hand break under stress - he did not grasp the "pedal backwards" to stop thing yet. What I didn't like: * It's HEAVY. Is it heavier than other kid size bikes? No. It's not a $400 aluminum frame bike, either. But I cannot believe kids bikes have to be that heavy. The frame's profile could be half the size and hold up... * Hand break is a little flimsy, and adjusting the brake to actually stop the bike took some time and effort. It's there, tho, and it works now. * The "Buttons" band is a little confusing. We got two of the same brown plaid, and not sure how to change the design. I think it's unnecessary. I'd trade it for the water bottle offered in the other RoyalBaby model in no time. * The biggest problem I had with the bike was the rear axle, tho. It looks like the wheel was not in line with the frame. Not sure it was a manufacturing defect, or the first owner decided to adjust something, but it took a trip to a bike shop to figure it out. Amazon came through offering to take the bike back, or issue a partial refund. We kept the bike. Overall it's a nice bike. If you cannot stand Cars, Planes, Ninja Turtles and My Little Pony plastered all over your kids stuff, this is a good choice. I think it's a little overpriced, that's why it has the 4 stars. If I was choosing again I think I would pickRoyalBaby Kids Freestyle Bike 12 inch, 14 inch, 16 inch BMX for Boys and Girls , but we do like the bike, my son enjoys riding it, and since we fixed the rear wheel issue we've had no problems with it.

Durable
I really like the bike, that's my second purchase with the same brand in 4 years, my Daughter still riding hers, the bike is still in good shape. The only bad thing i can say was the handling packaging, i received the box open and Missing the 4 screws caps cover for the the one I brought for my son.

Two weeks in and it’s falling apart
Two weeks into riding the bike and 3 things have broken. These came loose today and won’t screw back on. The threads are damaged. Nothing happened to the bike to cause this and it’s only been two weeks!

Absolutely love this bike, and so does everyone else!
The design of the bike makes it much easier for my child to get on and off the bike, and also to reach the ground with both feet when stopped. The design is really cool and we have so many positive comments about the bike from other parents. The bike is very well make and comes nearly fully assembled so it's a breeze to put together.

US spec bikes, south east Asia buyer to note
Pedal back ward to brake , not common in Singapore, pedal need to remain in same position to coast / free wheel. Pedallin slightly backward will brake the bike. For kids can be confusing. SEA shopper please be note advisory.

It was relatively easy to put together
My 4 y/o son loves this bike and he's riding on his own now on two wheels after only a few practice sessions! It was relatively easy to put together. The bolt that needs to come off to attach the kick stand was attached wayyyy too tight so I wasn't able to get it off. Still, the bike works fine without a kick stand anyway. It's a really cute bike and we've gotten loads of compliments on it already. Fast shipping and we've made so much use of the bike in the week that we've had it. My son wants to go for bike rides every night. Highly recommended.
