When you need this, you really need it.
My use was in an older home that has a clay tile sewer lateral that's occasionally blocked by tree roots. And heavy rain/soaked soil can combine with a clog, and flood the main 4" drain in my basement. This keeps the water from backing up into the basement. It's also perfect for when I'm using foaming root killer in the toilets and don't want it backing up out the drain. It's also perfect for using sulphuric acid clog removers, and you don't want Hydrogen Sufide "rotten egg" smells wafting out of the drain. I like the tough plastic construction. I had an older metal plug that was zinc galvanized, and it became a corroded mess. This one washes off nicely. And the bigger wing-nut gives better leverage when tightening it to expand the seal.

Works
Used to seal the cross member tube on front end loader on tractor. Keeps everything in for storage while keeping it dry, easy to install and remove.

Does it's job fast and easy!
I was noticing for years a funky smell in my basement. Kept dumping water in my floor drain thinking it was drying up but that never got rid of it. Finally one day water on my floor led me to move my chest freezer. AHA! Hidden under it was an old toilet flange (drain hole) that must have been from an old toilet. It was covered by a simple piece of wood. I purchased this and it sat down in the flange perfectly, a few turns of the screw and it was locked in there nice and tight. Problem solved and it took me all of 30 seconds to install. So anyway if you've got an old toilet flange to cap look no further than this bad boy, works like a charm and couldn't be easier to install!

Holds more pressure than rated for
So I wasn't fully paying attention to everything when I purchased this. Bought it for a pressurized water system on my truck to make it easy to fill with water and then seal off. I didn't want to deal with a threaded cap or with having to use plumbers tape every time I unscrewed a cap. I found this and thought it would be exactly what I needed. It is....except it's only rated for 5psi. I didn't realize that when I filled the water system the first time. I brought the pressure up to 30psi and it held fine. The water flowed like I was hoping so I decided to try 40psi (keep in mind this was before I realized its only rated for 5psi). I get the system up to 40psi and step back to look for any leaks. That's when the plug gave way and shot off the top of the pipe like an old school water rocket. The plug went about 20' in the air with a loud boom and ended up in the neighbors tree. It was loud enough to be heard in the house. I retrieved the plug and installed it back on to the water system, pushed it back up to 25psi and it seemed to hold. We'll see how it works on a 6 day camping trip next week in Moab but it appears it'll get the job done for what I need.

Fits Cast Iron Cleanout With A 4-Inch Opening
The threads on the 70 year old cast iron cleanout were shot, no way to screw on a brass cap. The opening was just under 4-inch, I measured it at 3-7/8”. This cap fit perfectly, snugged up tightly with just a few turns of the beefy, oversized wing nut. Best of all, it’s easy to take off if I ever need access. The cleanout is at the top of the U-shaped trap, so it’s under no pressure, and water would normally never come into contact with the cap, so I have no idea if this cap will hold any pressure. This 4” cap replaced a brass cap labeled 3-1/2, but which actually measures 3-7/8 to the outer edge of the threads. I don’t know how plumbers keep track of all of these strange sizes. Best of all, this cap was much cheaper than the alternatives, it’s a third the price of the Cherne cap, and it fits better and is easier to use.

Plugs 4" Dryer Vent Beautifully
Just installed a new washer with a ventless dryer (https://www.amazon.com/GE-White-Ventless-Condenser-Electric/dp/B07S2DS4F2/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=ge+ventless+dryer&qid=1658176736&sprefix=ge+ventless+d%2Caps%2C74&sr=8-3). Used this plug to seal the old dryer vent so it doesn't blow in cold air during the winter. Took 10-seconds to install. Tight seal. Walk-in-the-park. If I had more holes I needed plugged, I'd be buying more of these.

Perfect fit
Bought this to seal off a toilet flange that we are no longer needing. This toilet flange was too hard to remove and at some point we may want to reinstall the toilet. The 4 inch sized one works perfect. A nice tight seal.
