This one pivots

I was looking for a solid one that does not swivel or pivot. I use it anyway with a small leak because it is in a stressed position. Couldn't find a solid one , I guess, on Amazon.

Perfect Replacement Shank

This is a great replacement shank, glad I purchased it. The 3' lead in hose to my reel was accidentally split open by a sheet of plywood late last fall. I was going to purchase a new one but thought of going this route instead. I used a socket wrench to tighten the clamp in leiu of using a screwdriver as suggested by a reviewer; tight as a drum with no leaks whatsoever. Read from some that it's not as thick as it could be, which is true, but this was pretty much a once and done connection for me. Even if you had to replace it after every season, which I highly doubt, it would still be a lot cheaper than purchasing a new hose.

Makes hand tightening harder, but works as advertised

Initially it was leaking around the two metal pieces. I had to wrench tighten it onto the spigot to stop the leak. The problem is the metal clamp gets in the way and digs into your hand screwing it on. I don't think this the greatest "brass" alloy, so I'll just watch it for corrosion.

Very easy to install!

Wow. Usually it is so difficult to install these and this hose end was so easy to install and water tight! I am buying more! I rarely write reviews, but I am so happy with these hose ends, that it really inspires me to create better irrigation for my yard! I am very happy!

Easy to use.

Easy to use. Simply cut your old hose about a few inches from the connector. Install the clamp over the hose. Push the cut end of the hose over the tapered end. Slide the clamp over the end and tighten the philips screw. Install the end as you would a regular hose.

Does the job

I had to put hose end into boiling water to soften it enough and slide over this adapter; makes for tight connection, though. Not top of the line, but sturdy enough an decent value for the money; would recommend.

Meh. It’s ok for the price. I don’t know that I’ll order it again but for the price it’s ok. I add flex glue when ever I mend a hose so it’s definitely not leaking but I can tell it’s not very well made. Just glad the price was right.

Light duty but it works well

7/13/19: Cut off the old hose end that was leaking (pin holes had developed in the metal), and replaced it with this. Works, doesn’t leak, but it feels like a light duty replacement. Should be fine for us as we don’t remove it more than a few times a year.
