3/4" threads to what?

I needed this for an anti siphone sprinkler valve which has standard NPT 3/4" female threads on it. I put some teflon tape on these and threaded them on. Got about half way in and it started to bind. I used channel-locks to try and tighten down more but it wouldnt go any further. Now i have about 1/4 inch of thread showing on both connectors. Im not sure why this is. Maybe these arent true NPT threads? I even took the tape off and tried it without the tape and had the same issue. Hopefully it wont leak water around the threads and i can just live with it being ugly. Still cheaper than a normal union and fittings from big box stores and takes up half as much space vertically.

Good quality

Solid, high quality adapter for use with Orbit sprinkler valve manifold. I’ve used a lot of these and though expensive they are better quality than a lot of Orbit products.

Very Handy with Orbit sprinkler valve manifold system

Wow, what a life saver, could not find it at the local HD and Lowes, not anywhere nearby as well. Amazon to the rescue with next day delivery, was able to continue with my sprinkler system upgrade without much wasted time.
