Great pair of sunglasses

I had need of some high quality sunglasses because my eye doctor informed me of developing cataracts. He told me polarized sunglasses would help by cutting down the UV light. Compounding this is the fact my vision is losing clarity so needed high quality lenses. I was advised that Maui Jim sunglasses were superior to the other two top contenders: Ray Ban and Oakley's. The advice proved true. The lens clarity has noticeable high tech treatment of light. I can look directly at the sun with them on without any discomfort. The clarity of the visual field is fantastic. The frame is very light and conforms nicely to my head. Unlike contending brands, the lens was curved to block like from the sides. And, unlike many sunglasses, my eyelashes did not brush the lenses. A word of caution: I tried three Maui Jim sunglasses on the :"try before you buy" program. Two came in large and one was medium. (I bought the medium root beer) However, the Amazon description for the sunglasses did have dimensions but did not use the term "medium" or "large". The size was noted only on the boxes. I actually liked the green mirror lenses slightly better but did not like the large frame size. (They kept slipping) I could not determine how to order the green lenses in the medium size so passed on those. So Amazon and Maui Jim lost a sale. I hope someone reads this and fixes the description. They are really good sunglasses and deserve to be bought. Declaring the size would help that.

Super light and great lenses

My wife and I have worn these sunglasses exclusively for 20 years. Nothing compares and their rehab/repair program amazing They fit great with super flex frames. We wear on the roughest most outdoor adventure activities and they are indestructible.

I was headed out on a 12 day road trip and knew that I was going to need good glasses. I’ve worn Maui Jim’s before and they are the best I’ve found for all day wear. So I bought these. They fit me well, and I have Jess eye strain. They are definitely worth the extra money. My last pair had lasted about 5 years until they were stolen. My biggest concern with these is how light weight they are. It so far so good.

The best sunglasses for an active person in high temps

My biggest issue with sunglasses is that no matter how polarized or great the lenses were, I would always get tired of wearing them due to sweat build up or just fatigue from having them on for long periods. These breakwall sports fixed all my problems. No longer do I get tired of wearing sunglasses even working in the 100 degree heat. If you are hesitant about spending the extra money don’t be. I already purchased another pair for my dad as a birthday present

Unfortunately they weren't the right size or shape for my face, but great glasses.

It may be advisable to try on glasses rather than ordering them online unless you're sure they're a replacement for ones you've had before and that they fit your face.

They're advertized as grey, but lenses have a greenish color

Other then the color they are very nice - very lightweight. But expect them to be brittle - be careful with them. If you don't mind the slightly greenish hue of the lenses, they're excellent sunglasses.

Very very pleased

I really didn't expect these to live up to the Maui Jim Marketing machine but I have to say that after a month of ownership I absolutely love them. Mostly I wear them when out cycling which is about 5 hours a week, they are beautifully light, surprisingly robust for plastic glasses and the colour intensity - particularly greens - is genuinely amazing. From a sports perspective they let very little light in around the edges, fit very snugly against my face (I have fairly normal features and my face is slightly narrower than average), and even at 30 mph there not much draft causing my eyes to water. Definitely buy again, definitely recommend.

Excellent sunglasses

I researched these sunglasses for ages before buying them - I've been addicted to Arnette Swingers, which have been discontinued after over 10 years. I was on my 5th pair: I would take them everywhere and unfortunately, one of the arms would inevitably snap when crushed in a backpack or simply sat upon in the car. So I have 4 pairs of one-armed Arnettes, all with the right arm broken off if anyone out there has any spares! These are really unbreakable: I have already sat upon them several times. They are also superb sunglasses - the lenses are perfect: light enough for those bright but clouded days, dark enough for bright sunlight. They are also so light they are virtually unnoticeable - I forget I have them on sometimes and have to check! Well worth the money (that's if you don't lost them - but even that's unlikely because the case they come with has a useful clip to attach them safely to anything you like!).
