Serves its purpose for a price

I can't believe I had to buy a glass gallon jug - usually I can just buy apple cider in the store and keep the glass bottle, but I just couldn't find it anywhere, so I had to buy this on Amazon. Used this to transfer apple cider vinegar (for long storage) from plastic jug. Arrived safely without damage and does its job.

Had made wine for years using 5 gallon jug with 1 gallon I can experiment with different recipes good product

Only problem was the plug for the air-lock

I purchased 4 of these 1-gallon jugs for wine making. The air locks that came with the jugs were not really needed, but I felt I could use them. The only problem I had was that the rubber plug would not hold well in the neck of the jug, even after making sure the jug opening and plug were clean and dry. I had several screw top lids for the jugs that had a hole for the stem of the air lock so I replaced all the plugs with the screw on lids. Maybe roughing the lower half of the plug with sandpaper would help it hold better. Otherwise, the gallon jugs work well for my wine making, were reasonably priced and arrived in good condition.

Buy different bungs.

The bungs these come with are garbage and should be replaced along with the leaky black caps, I also chose to swap out the 2 piece air lock for an S lock. Overall the construction of the glass is fine. I’ve purchased additional even with the bung and cap issues.

Good Value

I primarily needed the jug, but for the price, it was worth it to get another bung and carboy along with it. My only complaint is that I had a real hard time getting the bung to stay in. Material is a little bit too slick to get a good seating. I had to take it out a few times and wipe it down during the first few days… it just couldn’t hold tight enough against the gases

Glass is worth it, airlock not so much.

The glass itself is nice, not thin and cheap like some others I've found. But I'm not thrilled with the airlock. Theyre pretty small which isnt the issue. Over one batch of wine the water evaporated twice. When different locks used at the same time are still filled. Definitely can't mix and forget with these
